JIMIN

"What the hell, Jimin?" Ari demanded as soon as he answered the phone.

"Good morning to you
too." He said.

Normally, he'd be a little annoyed by that kind of
greeting, but he knew he
sorta deserved it this time.

"Don't start." She said.

"Why have you been
avoiding me?"

"I haven't been." He lied.

"I had to work last night, remember?"

That part wasn't a lie, at least.

But he had been avoiding her texts since the previous afternoon.

Fortunately, he'd finally been able to get Jungkook on the phone and thank God, he
had that damned keychain.

Jimin had made plans to go
pick it up later that evening, when Jungkook got off work
and then he'd become so absorbed in sorting through
the applications on his desk
and getting his resume in
order that he'd apparently missed a text from Ari
that morning as well.

Make that three texts, he realized, looking at his phone.

Her voice boomed over the speaker, interrupting his thoughts.

"Don't try to play me."

"I know you weren't making espresso non-stop for eight hours last night."

"And then again this
morning, What's going on?"

"Nothing... I've just been out
of it, I guess." He wasn't about to tell her he'd misplaced
her prized possession.

"Did I ever tell you about
how things went with
Jungkook?" He asked, knowing she would take the bait.

"No, How could you have
told me when you've been avoiding me?"

He smiled and waited.

One.

Two.

"Are you going to fucking
tell me about your date?"

"Or do I need to come over
there right now?"

Jimin laughed.

For all of his newfound
personal goals and ambitions,
at least Ari hadn't changed.

"Okay, okay." he said
struggling to keep his laughter
to a minimum before she
made good on her threat.

"Well, first of all, I think 'date' might be stretching things
but it was actually nice."

"Really nice."

"Oh? That's good."

"Nice is good."

"Yeah." Jimin agreed.

"But now I want to see
him again..."

"So? See him again."

He sighed, wishing for the millionth time that it was
really that simple.

"But what's the point?"

"I thought I wasn't supposed
to get involved with whoever
I picked for a fling."

"Jesus, Jimin."

"I'm not saying you need to
pick out monogrammed
towels with the guy."

Jimin could picture Ari's
dramatic eye roll.

She was his complete
opposite when it came to
dating and she had limited patience with Jimin's all-or-nothing attitude.

"Do you like him?"

"I don't really even know
him..." She snorted.

"You exhaust me."

"Fine, Don't see him then."

"Keep it moving."

"I need to go anyway, so
I'll call you later."

He could tell she was a little annoyed when she hung up
but he didn't know what else
to do.

He wasn't used to dating.

Or one-night stands.

God, he was even exhausting himself.

Whatever.

The truth was, he would be seeing Jungkook in a few
hours and even though he couldn't tell Ari what the
purpose of the visit was,
he'd hoped that she could
at least offer some general advice for his situation.

But this was apparently one
of those things he would just have to figure out on his own.
