JUNGKOOK
Jungkook couldn't remember ever being so nervous for a
first date.
He'd arrived early to the restaurant, not wanting to
miss out on even one minute
of time that he could
potentially spend with Jimin.
He'd tried to keep himself
busy all day, sitting in on meetings, asking questions
and making phone calls.
Inevitably, his mind would wander and Jimin's face
was the only thing it seemed capable of settling on.
Thankfully, there had been enough distractions to keep
him mostly preoccupied.
Now however, as he sat
waiting for Jimin to arrive,
the butterflies in his stomach were having a roller derby.
Even though he'd been
looking forward to their
evening together since
they'd made plans the night before, he briefly wondered
if he was going to be sick.
He took a deep breath.
Get. It. Together.
There was just so much he wasn't certain about.
He wasn't even sure what
he wanted the outcome to
be for the evening.
Strangely, he wasn't thinking
of having sex with Jimin.
Well it wasn't the only thing
he was thinking about at least.
He truly wanted to get to
know the man who was
taking up so many of his thoughts and he hoped that
Jimin felt the same way
about him.
And even though he didn't
dare to think about what his long-term plans were until
his job situation was definite.
There was a little glimmer
of hope in the back of his
mind that he might be able
to see quite a bit more of
Jimin after this preliminary
week in Seoul was up.
If Jimin was even interested
in that.
God, he didn't even want to
think about how he would
feel if his attraction to the
other man ended up being
one-sided.
When he saw Jimin walking toward him, his nerves
faded to the background.
Jimin was smiling and that
was all he could focus on,
as if he'd brought a ray of sunshine in with him.
Jungkook stood up and
pulled out a chair for the
other man and was rewarded with a brief, electric touch
as Jimin's hand brushed
against his.
"Thank you." Jimin said, his
eyes sparkling.
"You look really good."
Jimin's cheeks flushed a
light shade of pink and
the butterflies started
doing back-flips.
Jungkook felt his own cheeks start to burn a little from
the compliment.
He'd become so accustomed
to fending off vapid remarks about his looks at bars and
clubs that Jimin's sincerity
threw him off guard.
He swallowed hard, trying to think of something to say that was witty or sexy or at least something that would have
the same effect on Jimin.
"Thanks." Jungkook finally managed, clearing his throat
a little.
"You do too."
Fail.
But at least Jimin's smile widened, so maybe he would
be willing to overlook
Jungkook's uninspired reply.
