A couple days later, during dinner Peter kept on looking at Val who was talking to Cristina about their dinner tonight which was meatloaf

"It tastes good actually" Val said softly

"You know someday someone's gonna take out the demons in you" Cristina laugh a bit

"Hmm, maybe" Val said quietly

She accidentally look at Peter who was watching her while eating his food he gave her a smirk

"God what is with this dude and his smirk?" She whispered to herself

"What was that Val?" Wil said since he didn't catch what Valkyrie was saying

"Oh uhh no I said the meatloaves are good" She lied

"You said that 20 times already" Al chuckled

After dinner everyone has gotten to sleep while Val kept tossing around her bed, she couldn't sleep and she doesn't know why so she stood up and decided to talk a walk around

She quietly walk around the halls but came by a dark tunnel, she swears she saw someone in the dark but couldn't make up to who is it

She slowly walk inside the tunnel but secretly she was scared buy then someone grabbed her arm and pull her into a spot light

"What the fuck?!" She gasped

"Chillax Blue it's me" It was Peter

"You again?"

"Your welcome?" He sarcastically said

"And why would I be thanking you for?"

Peter shrugged his shoulder "I don't know that it's me who you found in the dark" He smiled

Just then they heard footsteps so Peter grab her arm and pull her into a closet near them

"What the fuck are you doing?!" She slightly screamed

"Saving your ass" He whispered before putting his hand on her mouth

Someone just then walk pass by them and their footsteps slowly faded

"Turn the lights on!" She demanded and he did

"Scared of the dark?" He ask

"I'm not scared of the dark, I'm scared on what's in it" She softly said before she sighed

Peter just look ag her which makes it awkward for her

"Why did you pull me in here anyway? And what do you want?"

"It's not that I need something from you I just couldn't sleep" He spoke softly

"Wow Candor you spoke softly now huh?" She smiled

Peter chuckled and shook his head

"Come with me" He said

"Why? Are you gonna kill me?" She joked

"No" He laughs a bit "Just trust me"

Trust, that's what she's afraid of... Trusting people that will always end up hurting her

Peter held her hand and she hand to him tightly, they run around the hall silently while giggling like kids

Peter brought her up to the building where they first came from to enter Dauntless, it was windy but it was warm

"Wow" She look up in the sky "It's..."

"Beautiful" Peter was looking at her "Yeah I know"

"How did you manage to know this?" She walk towards the edge and sat there

"I tend to explore" He sat beside her

Valkyrie laughs which makes Peter feels flattered like something is inside his stomach, for the first time ever he was happy seeing someone laughing or smiling

"What?"

"Nothing it's just that I didn't expect a guy like you would be interested in this kind of stuff" She said

"Well I'm full of surprises" He smiled

"This is beautiful Peter"

His name, she said his name to Peter it sounded like angels singing his name he loves it... He loves when she says his name

"To me your all this bad boy thing but now I realize..." She looks at him and smiled "You are more than that"

He didn't know what to say, she was the first girl to say that to him because in his point of view everyone saw him as this cruel cold hearted monster

"My friends had been talking about you... How your all bad and bad news like your not good for anyone" She said

"But now that I've seen this part of you I don't believe them"

"But you believed them?" He asked

Val shook her head "No, I don't know you yet to judge you"

She's so smart and beautiful that only made Peter forget about his plan and wanting to love her like crazy

"I see why you were in Erudite" He said

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah, your intelligent and kind your not some supposed to be in Dauntless"

"Well my mind has changed and I want to be a cop" She said

The next morning at breakfast Val was talking to Tris about their trainings this past few days

"Hey where'd you go last night?" Crks ask Val

"I was up last night cause I need to piss the fuck out so I got up and saw that you where not in your bed" She said

Val slightly panicked, she couldn't tell her she was with their rival right? So she hurriedly thought of something to say

"I went out on a walk to get some fresh air cause I couldn't sleep" She said

"Yeah same at first I didn't but eventually I manage to sleep" Al said

Cristina believe her and nodded and continued eating her food Val manahe to glance at Peter from across their dining table but someone noticed that, someone has been eyeing on her this past few days they've been training
