Pebbles had been back in his exhibit for a few days, but something seemed off. He was usually a lively and active axolotl, but now he was lethargic and barely moving.

Alex and the animal friends grew increasingly concerned about Pebbles. They monitored him closely and noticed that he wasn't eating and was barely moving. Alex checked the water quality and found that the levels were within normal ranges.

But then, as they were checking the exhibit one morning, they noticed something alarming. The water level in Pebbles' tank had gone down significantly, and Pebbles was now struggling to breathe.

Alex quickly realised what had happened. The damage caused by the boy's recklessness had weakened the tank, and it was now leaking water. Pebbles had been slowly suffocating without enough water to breathe properly.

The group rushed into action, frantically trying to figure out how to save Pebbles. They had to get him out of the tank and into a temporary holding container with fresh water immediately.

With careful hands, they gently lifted Pebbles out of the tank and placed him in the container. Pebbles gasped for air, his gills moving rapidly as he tried to recover.

Alex and the animals worked tirelessly to repair the tank, but the damage was too severe. They had to transfer Pebbles to a new tank as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Pebbles remained in the temporary container, getting weaker by the minute. His condition worsened, and the group was on edge, not knowing if they would be able to save him.

As they worked, they couldn't help but feel guilty about what had happened. They should have checked the tank more thoroughly after the boy's accident, they should have noticed the damage earlier. They were all worried that their negligence had caused Pebbles' illness.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, they managed to transfer Pebbles to a new tank with fresh water. They monitored him closely and administered the necessary medication.

After a few tense days, Pebbles began to recover. His gills started moving normally, and he began eating again. The group breathed a collective sigh of relief, grateful that they were able to save him in time.

But they all knew that they had learned a valuable lesson. They couldn't afford to be careless when it came to the animals under their care. They had to be vigilant and proactive to ensure their safety and well-being.
