As the passage of time flowed like a river, Minji felt herself involuntarily drawing away from Beomgyu.

Every time her gaze met his, vivid memories of the family dinner resurfaced, where Yoona's hurtful words had struck her like arrows. She grappled with these recollections, struggling to reconcile her feelings for Beomgyu with the shadow of doubt that had been cast upon them.

Meanwhile, Beomgyu's heartfelt desire to resolve their misunderstandings was consistently thwarted by his demanding schedule, which kept him tightly ensconced within the confines of his office. The pressing tasks and responsibilities left him with little time to address the growing emotional chasm that seemed to be forming between him and Minji.

Their interactions had become increasingly restricted, often limited to the brief moments they shared during dinner. During these meals, Minji's responses had dwindled down to mere single-word answers, a stark contrast to the animated conversations they used to have.

One day, during dinner Minji mustered the courage to break the silence, her voice tentative yet hopeful, "Hey, Beomgyu."

Beomgyu's heart skipped a beat, glad to hear her address him directly again, and he responded eagerly, "Yeah?"

With a small, forced smile, Minji continued, "Uhm... I've been selected to be the MC for an upcoming show next week. And, well, it's also going to be the first showcase of my new song. My manager suggested that I invite you to come along. Would you be interested in joining me?"

Beomgyu's eyes lit up as he agreed by saying, "Yeah! Of course."

"Great..." Minji responded, her voice trailing off as her expression returned to its usual impassive state.

Beomgyu's shoulders slumped slightly, the weight of the tension between them palpable in the air. He was determined to bridge the gap that had formed between them over the past weeks, to break through the wall Minji seemed to have built around herself.

Summoning a small smile, Beomgyu cleared his throat and began, "Minji, I've been thinking... maybe we could..." His words were cut off by the sudden ringing of Minji's phone. She glanced apologetically at Beomgyu and excused herself with a soft, "Sorry, just a moment."

Stepping away from the table, she answered the call, her voice hushed as she engaged in the conversation. Beomgyu watched her walk into a room, a mixture of emotions swirling within him. He was determined to find a way to reconnect with Minji, to erase the distance that had grown between them, but he understood that it wouldn't happen overnight.

----- The Next Week -----

The passage of the week felt like a swift gust of wind, whisking Minji away into a whirlwind of preparations for her upcoming comeback showcase. Her days were a blur of rehearsals, meetings, and endless details to ensure that the event would be a spectacular treat for her devoted fans. Yet, amid the frenzy of her professional commitments, a weighty realisation settled upon her shoulders.

The distance she had intentionally allowed to grow between her and Beomgyu was now a palpable presence, casting a shadow over their once-blossoming connection.

Every encounter with him seemed to stir a mix of emotions within her, the most prominent being a peculiar tightness in her chest. Minji recognised the echoes of the jealousy and uncertainty that had taken root during that fateful family dinner, adding layers of complexity to their interactions.

She couldn't deny the discomfort that accompanied their strained rapport. The very sight of Beomgyu, once a source of warmth and camaraderie, now served as a reminder of the unresolved tension between them. Minji grappled with conflicting emotions, torn between her desire to mend their relationship and the lingering unease that held her back.
