While heading home, unease gnawed at Beomgyu. Minji's response weighed heavily on his mind. His heartfelt admission had crumbled due to the unexpected interference of his friend Yoona. Beomgyu had never fathomed the depth of her feelings—what he had perceived as support was, in truth, an intense attachment bordering on obsession.

Upon arriving at their house, Beomgyu's heart raced with a mixture of anxiety and hope. As he parked his car, he wasted no time in hurrying towards the entrance. Swiftly opening the main gate, he stepped inside, and relief washed over him as he spotted Minji's parked car—a sign that she was indeed home. His steps were hurried and fuelled by an urgency to make amends.

As he opened the door, the sight of Minji's form lying on the couch brought an unconsciously fond smile to his face. His heart ached to bridge the gap that had formed between them. Beomgyu moved closer, his movements careful and tender. Kneeling down in front of the couch, he took in the sight of Minji's peaceful slumber. Her cheeks were gently pressed against the sofa, the view tugging at his heartstrings.

With a gentle touch, he brushed a stray strand of hair away from her face, his fingers grazing her cheek. In that moment, his longing for her, his desire to apologise and be close to her, resonated deeply within him, outweighing any complications life might throw their way. With a swift move, he carried her upstairs and placed her on the bed, as he promised himself to make it up to her the next day.

As dawn approached, Beomgyu stirred awake, only to find himself alone in the bed. His heart raced as the memories of the previous day flooded back to him. With a swift motion, he sprung out of bed, the thought of yesterday's events weighing heavily on his mind.

Daegu. Cancellation. Confession. Yoona.

He groaned and muffled his screams with the pillow, but immediately got up when he heard the bedroom door creak. Then, Beomgyu's gaze landed on Minji entering the room, adorned in an exquisite white dress that showcased her elegance. Her raven black hair was artfully woven into a loose braid, and her makeup was applied with such subtlety that it appeared she wore none at all. A delicate waft of her familiar lavender scent reached his senses, causing his breath to catch as she drew nearer to him.

Minji's smile brightened at the sight of Beomgyu's tousled yet undeniably appealing appearance. However, the memory of the previous night quickly washed over her, causing her smile to fade and her expression to shift into a glare. Beomgyu slightly winced at her cold stare as he smiled sheepishly.

"Good morning Minj...", his voice trailed off when he saw her staring at him as if she was going to slap him.

Beomgyu immediately shut his mouth as he waddled over to the bathroom, Minji's glare burning a hole in his back as he did so. As he stepped into the bathroom and closed the door behind him, he let out a sigh of relief.

"This is gonna be way harder than I thought", he mumbled to himself as he rubbed his face with his hands.

Emerging from the bedroom, Beomgyu was clad in a white shirt tucked beneath a denim jacket of deep blue, paired with jeans of the same hue. Minji's eyebrow arched in a silent question, her curiosity palpable.

Beomgyu, seemingly aware of her unspoken query, explained, "I won't be going to the office today. I've asked Yeonjun to manage the meetings so I can take you out on a date."

The tenderness of his words almost managed to break through Minji's façade, her heart wavered before she resolutely returned to her composed demeanour. A nod was all she offered before she began to move away.

However, she was caught off guard as Beomgyu's hand shot out, enveloping her in a sudden embrace. Her back found the support of his firm chest, and the sensation ignited an array of emotions within her.
