The morning sunlight gently filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room as Minji woke up to the sound of Beomgyu's voice. Rubbing her eyes, she noticed him in the living room, already dressed up for the day, engrossed in an online meeting. She couldn't help but sigh at his workaholic nature, even during their trip to Tokyo.
Deciding to give him some space, she quietly slipped out of the room and started getting ready for the day. But just as she was about to step into the bathroom, her phone chimed with a series of messages. Curious, Minji picked it up to see a barrage of texts from her best friend, Soobin.
Soobin: Woah! You're here in Tokyo?
Soobin: You didn't even tell your bestie :(
Soobin: Let's go somewhere
Soobin: Pleaseee
Minji rolled her eyes at Soobin's playful complaints, typing back with a smile, "Sorry, it was a last-minute trip. But I'm here now, so let's meet up!"
Soobin: WOW, anyways why don't you and your husband come visit me? I have never even talked to him.
Minji chuckled at Soobin's excitement, replying, "Sure, let's come over. But will your manager allow it? You know how strict they can be."
Soobin: Who cares about that? Leave it to me. Just come in the evening, we will have dinner and a drink together. Maybe we can go to the new amusement park :)
Minji couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement at the thought of introducing Beomgyu to her best friend. She knew Soobin would adore him, and she wanted to see how Beomgyu would react to Soobin's quirky and friendly personality.
Minji stepped out of the bedroom, her gaze immediately drawn to Beomgyu still seated on the couch, his fingers typing away furiously on his laptop. She sighed softly to herself, feeling a mix of admiration for his dedication to work and a tinge of annoyance that he couldn't take a break even during their trip.
Deciding to grab something to eat from the kitchen, she took a step forward, only to be halted as her wrist was gently tugged backward. Her back bumped into Beomgyu's chest, and she turned around with surprise written all over her face.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" Minji asked, trying to sound stern but her voice betraying a hint of amusement.
"It seemed as if you wanted to tell me something, so I needed to stop you," Beomgyu explained, a playful glint in his eyes.
Minji couldn't help but smile at his antics. Despite his serious demeanour just moments ago, he always managed to surprise her with his playful side. She leaned into his embrace, feeling the warmth of his body against hers.
"Okay, you caught me," Minji admitted, "I was just going to get something to eat. Care to join me?"
Beomgyu smirked, his arms encircling her waist, pulling her closer. "Of course, but only if you promise to tell me what you were planning to say later."
Minji chuckled and pulled herself away from his grasp, leaving him with an empty feeling, "Deal. Now let's go raid the kitchen together."
While savouring the delicious breakfast, Minji's mind suddenly sparked with the memory of Soobin's messages. She looked over at Beomgyu, contemplating whether to bring it up or not.
Finally, she mustered up the courage and said, "Beomgyu, you know Soobin? He invited us to hangout in the evening."
A slight huff of annoyance escaped Beomgyu's lips as he replied, "Is this what you wanted to tell me earlier?"
