Timeskip: 2 months later

When I woke up, the room was flooded with sunlight. Rubbing my eyes,  Yawning as I stretched my limbs.

I got up and made my way towards the kitchen. As I entered the room, I found Taehyung standing by the counter, preparing breakfast. He seemed caught off guard when he saw me.

"Oh, you're awake," he said, his voice laced with surprise.

"Yeah, I just woke up. What time is it?" I asked, still trying to shake off the drowsiness.

"It's around eight," he replied, avoiding eye contact.

I noticed how his demeanor had changed over time. The offensive look he had always given me was replaced with something more distant. It puzzled me, but I didn't press further.

When he said I shouldn't expect him to be an ideal husband, I didn't think it would go to this extent.

We are more like flatmates who lives together without interfering in each other's life. Somehow it was pleasant but yet disheartening.

"I'll get ready. Any plans for today?" I asked, hoping to alleviate the tension between us. We never went to any places together let alone outside. And every time I try to ask him to go out he meticulously escapes.

"No plans. I was just going to catch up on some work," he responded, his tone remaining distant.

I nodded silently, feeling a mix of disappointment and relief. I had hoped that spending time together would help us get to know each other better, but it seemed like he was determined to maintain a certain distance. It's been almost two months and still we are distant like never.

As I got ready and joined him in the kitchen, I forced a smile, trying to brighten the atmosphere. However, it was difficult to ignore the growing awkwardness between us. We exchanged a few words here and there, but it felt forced and unnatural.

We finished breakfast in silence, and he left the room abruptly, leaving me alone. Confused and frustrated, I decided to walk around the mansion.

I never fully had a tour of this house. During those initial days, I was always inside my room barely coming out.

Perhaps finding something that interested me would help pass the time and distract me from the strange dynamics in the house.

As I wandered through the rooms, I couldn't help but notice their emptiness. The place felt cold and devoid of life. The walls were adorned with paintings and photographs, but they seemed more like mere decorations than reminders of cherished memories. It was as if the house held its own secrets and refused to divulge them.

Lost in my thoughts, I walked into a room that appeared to be a library. Rows of bookshelves stretched from the floor to the ceiling, filled with novels, encyclopedias, and various other books. Intrigued, I began perusing the titles, losing myself in the world of literature.

Hours passed as I immersed myself in the books. It was a welcome escape from the tension pervading the mansion. The solitude of the library allowed me to freely indulge in my love for reading, transporting me to different times and places.

As I grabbed another book from the shelf, I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. Startled, I looked up to find the man standing at the entrance of the library, his gaze fixed on me.

"I didn't know there was a library here," I said, trying to break the ice.

He nodded and walked towards me, his expression softening slightly. "Yes, the mansion is full of hidden treasures. I'm glad you found this place."

I smiled, feeling a glimmer of hope. Maybe there was more to him than meets the eye. Perhaps in time, the walls he had built around himself would come down, and we could find common ground.

Hope you guys are enjoying this!
