After that night, things have been awkward. Even though we just slept facing opposite of eachother, it just seemed off.
After that, I have never tried to peep into his room or ask him what he's hiding.

Today, with no work to rush off to, I found myself lazily making coffee in the kitchen. It was almost four in the afternoon, and I had just woken up from a long nap.

"Yn," Taehyung's voice interrupted my coffee-making routine, and I turned to see him, trying not to laugh at my morning hair.

"Just woke up?" he asked, dropping his keys on the table.

"Yeah," I nodded, taking a sip of my coffee.

"So," he began, sounding a bit serious, "my company's throwing a party tonight for some promo stuff. Thought we could go together."

"Oh?" I raised an eyebrow, surprised.

"Yeah, everyone's bringing their families," he explained casually.

"Well..." I hesitated, not used to being considered part of his family.

"I don't have any plans tonight, so I guess I can come along," I said, trying to play it cool.

"Great. Oh, and I... uh... got you a dress for the occasion," he said awkwardly, avoiding eye contact.

My heart skipped a beat. He got me a dress?

"Wow, okay," I said, trying to hide my excitement. "I mean, I have dresses, but thanks."

"It's in the car. We'll leave in an hour," he said, grabbing his keys and heading out.

I couldn't contain my excitement. I rushed to the car to see the dress he picked out for me. It was stunning – a sparkling off-white gown that seemed to shimmer in the light. I couldn't wait to put it on.

"Is it okay?" Taehyung asked, snapping me out of my reverie.

"It's perfect," I said, feeling a surge of gratitude towards him.

"I just picked it up from a nearby store. Thought it would match the theme of the party," he explained sheepishly, his words made me feel devastated for some reason.

Knowing that he bought it just because of the theme. The bright smile on my face faded off. "Ah. I see, it's great." I say looking at the dress, hiding my eyes from him, I don't want him to read my emotions.

"Get ready, and we'll head out," he said, heading back inside.

I glanced at the dress again. I loved it.

I checked my reflection in the mirror, smacking my lips in approval. Next up: heels. I had a pair I crafted myself a few months back – silver glitter-filled ankle strap heels that added a touch of sparkle to any outfit. I rummaged through my cupboard in search of them when the door suddenly swung open.

There stood Taehyung, his hair still damp from a recent shower, clad in a chic cream-white suit accessorized with golden chains and rings. He looked absolutely angelic and devastatingly handsome.

Our eyes locked, and I felt his gaze trailing over me, sending shivers down my spine. It was as if time stood still, and I couldn't tear my gaze away from him.

"The dress turned out to be fine," he remarked, though his eyes seemed to linger on me rather than the dress.

I ignored his plain comment and continued my search for my heels, frustration simmering beneath the surface. He didn't even bother to compliment me. And he remained in the room, adjusting his hair in the mirror.
