"Miss Nim, your taste is indeed exquisite in all aspects," Miranda Hart praised, delicately savoring her effervescent ruby wine.
"Indeed, it is," I responded with a warm smile, maintaining a courteous demeanor.
The grandeur of the evening was palpable. We were gathered in Seoul's largest auditorium, a space already brimming with guests. As the clock chimed half-past eight, the vast hall resonated with a symphony of chatter and laughter.
Our company had just inaugurated its eighteenth showroom in Brazil, a significant milestone. Despite my personal life's downturn, my professional journey was ascending, igniting the passionate flame within me.
Stationed near the center, I greeted the guests, clad in a designer red bodycon dress that gracefully swept down to my ankles. The dress, adorned with thin straps and a plunging neckline, was complemented by large golden hoops. My hair was styled into a chic messy bun, secured with a rose ribbon, and my lips were painted a bold, striking red to match the dress.
"Good evening, Miss," a man greeted, offering me a glass of wine. I accepted it with a forced smile, not daring to take a sip.
"And you are?" I inquired, seeking a proper introduction.
"Mr. Caspian Elphias," he responded, his face breaking into a broad grin. "A pleasure to meet you, my lady."
"Caspian, like the sea?" I chuckled lightly, attempting to diffuse his overtly flirtatious demeanor.
"Perhaps," he chuckled in return.
"I am the CEO of the new fashion showroom opening in Beijing. I assumed you'd be aware of me. Well, well," he stated.
"Ah, I see. Nice to meet you," I replied swiftly. His presence was becoming slightly uncomfortable, and I couldn't pinpoint why.
"So, how's your husband?" He asked, taking a generous sip from his wine glass.
His sudden inquiry about Taehyung left me flustered. How much did he know about me?
"He's... he's doing well," I stammered, my fingers tracing the rim of the wine glass nervously.
"Hm," he hummed, finishing off his wine. "Good to hear," he added, his tone slow and deliberate.
His words left me puzzled. Where was this conversation heading?
"Thought he wouldn't get up after last night. You know," he chuckled lightly, placing his empty wine glass on a nearby tray.
I was taken aback. "Wha- what?" I stuttered, my mind struggling to process his words.
"Anyway, it was great meeting you. We'll meet again," he winked at me, waving before disappearing into the crowd.
Suddenly, one of my employees approached me, but I cut her off before she could finish. "Get me all the details about Caspian Elphias. Now," I ordered, heading towards the makeshift office in the auditorium.
I reached the office, quickly shutting the door behind me. As I opened my laptop, I began to search for all the new showrooms set up in Beijing.
Caspian Elphias.
After about ten minutes, there was a knock on my door.
"Come in," I called, my eyes still glued to the laptop screen.
The employee entered, greeting me. "I have emailed all the available details to your main email ID, ma'am. And he's still at the party--"
"Thank you. You may leave," I interrupted, dismissing her from the room. I was still standing, leaning against the table, my eyes scanning the laptop screen.
