"Is this the long-awaited fairy costume?" Yemi asked with a grin, eyeing your costume as she stepped into the apartment to you finishing the decorations.

You nodded, dropping the streamer you were about to hang to twirl for her. "Cute, innit?"

She nodded, declining your offer to help her bring in groceries right after.

"Almost everyone said they'll be on the way in the next, like, ten minutes." She started, dropping the snacks and assortment of alcohol in the kitchen. "The twins said they'll bring frozen margaritas. I'm a little excited to try it, I can't lie."

"They probably poisoned it on accident."

"Worth the risk," she shrugged. "I'd rather not live a life without the love of my life when he goes back on tour."

"OH BROTHER." You groaned, rolling your eyes in a way so overdramatized that it nearly hurt. "Grow a backbone. Your life should not revolve around a man!"

She sighed dreamily, pretty much dancing around the kitchen as she spoke. "You don't understand our love, y/n. Maybe one day you'll find someone like Semi Eita. Someone better than—you know."

Her smile dropped and you rolled your eyes playfully. You'd pretty much spilled everything to her as soon as she walked through the door after her trip to Thailand (or at least almost everything, you left out a lot of details about your weird dynamic with Suna). She comforted you and apologized over and over again for leaving you in such a complicated situation.

You walked away just as the doorbell rang, glad to have a reason to get away from Yemi and the hearts that her eyes were forming into. You unlocked it without checking to see who it was—a habit that Yemi had pointed it would most likely get you killed—and nearly dropped to the floor.

"BOO!" Hinata screamed, almost sending you into cardiac arrest. You could feel your heart skip multiple beats before your hand flew to it, clutching your chest as you heaved deep breaths to calm yourself.

All the while, you could hear five different people laughing at you at once.

"Suck my dick." You said to all of them at once, regaining your balance. Kuroo, Kenma, Lev, Kageyama, and Hinata all walked past you without so much as a hint of guilt or remorse on their faces, entering the spacious apartment.

You hugged Kageyama as he entered—and he was kind enough to at least give you a small apology, unlike your dickhead of a cousin— talking briefly about how it had been so long since you'd seen him. He was your favorite of all of Hinata's school friends, ranking high above Tsukishima's annoying ass, and just making it past Yamaguchi.

"Being scared by someone shouting boo? Really? You're too old for that." Kenma said even though nobody asked for his input. You shoved him, threatening to kick him out before he could get five steps in.

"Fuck are you supposed to be?" You paused to ask when you realized that contrary to the colorful costumes that the other guys had on, Kenma was wearing his very regular outfit consisting of a hoodie and sweatpants. It was horrendously mediocre.
