It took six sneezing fits, three tissue boxes finishing too fast for only a one person to be using them, and one singular cough until you finally broke the deafening silence of your apartment to ask Suna if he was okay. You tried to go as long as you could, hoping he might either just stop and be fine or finally tell you that he wasn't feeling well and go home.

It was when he'd been standing in the living room sorting the throw pillows and paused to cough that you finally spoke up. You'd been watching him the entire day with an impenetrable gaze (save for when he would look anywhere near your direction and you'd avert your eyes to the ground) as the two of you cleaned, cooked, fixed the oven light that had stopped working a week after moving in, all without speaking more than three words to each other.

You'd stood up after kneeling in front of the oven for half an hour as he replaced the light, watching his neutral expression and the way his arms flexed as he reached to the back of the oven, and thought about how the same fingers screwing the light bulb in place had been in you the night before. Now neither of you exchanged any words.

Until the cough.

"I'm fine." he answered not-so convincingly.

"Follow me," you told him, placing your teacup on the tabletop gently and standing. He looked up as if he couldn't tell if you were talking to him and sniffled, lowering the arm he had used to cover the cough.

"Where?" he asked, slowly walking up to you.

"Bathroom."

He looked reluctant to follow but you had already started toward your room, assuming he'd just be a few paces behind.

"Can that wait until later?" he spoke up after you'd already walked most of the way to your door. You turned to find that he'd barely moved. The corners of your lips quirked downward, why would he want to wait until later for you to check on him—

Ohh, you reacted in your mind, remembering how the two of you had gotten distracted the last time you asked him to help you with something in the bathroom two days ago and ended up showering together—though obviously there wasn't much showering that happened.

"Not like that," you quickly defended, feeling heat rush up your neck, "just a check up, then I'll give you medicine. I'm not..."

He scratched the side of his neck, apologizing and finally following you as you entered the room, leading him to the bathroom. You ordered him to sit on the toilet seat as you threw open the cabinet and pulled out your thermometer. Suna sneezed once again and with the new lighting, you noticed for the first time that he kinda looked like shit. Or about as shitty as he was capable of looking.

"I told you not to get too close to me." you sighed. "Three days straight. At least my apartment has never been cleaner."

"You're welcome." Suna said for you. You fixed him with a sarcastic smile.

"Thank you. Unfortunately my clean living space does come at the expense of your health though." You groaned, touching the back of your hand to his forehead for a few seconds before switching to the front. His nose—which was really turning a very Rudolph-esque shade of red from how often he had been sneezing and blowing his nose—twitched. At this point, you knew when to back away so he could lift his arm to cover his mouth.
