now my life is sweet like cinnamon

"Y'know, who would've thought that ice skating would be harder in the rain? The ice is already slippery, why does it get even worse?" you complained.
The coldness of early winter had been frosting your cheeks and attacking your nose so bad that you'd buried your head so deeply in your scarf and jacket, even stealing Suna's hat to cover your own head. Admittedly, he had begged you to put it on when your nose and cheeks had begun to turn a slightly noticeable shade of red. He had claimed you looked "adorable but hypothermic."
It took two minutes after Suna started it for the car to acclimatize and start blowing hot air instead of cold at your face, which you thanked everything you could think of for.
"It wasn't that bad once the rain started." he said. "Then again, it must be hard to go from sucking at ice skating to being dogshit at it in thirty minutes."
"Shut up and drive, geekwad." you mumbled while shivering, not having the patience to indulge in his back and forth. He laughed at the lack of fire that usually motivated you to shoot back at him.
"Someone's got her panties in a twist." he observed, warming his hands up in the heater. Yeah, you had also taken his gloves halfway through. Outdoor ice skating would have to be something you never did again.
"Someone gets no bitches on his dick." you fired back, quickly losing your motivation to continue and turning to him, leaning onto the console between your seats and speaking before he could get the chance. "Rin, I'm cold."
His eyebrows furrowed. "I gave you my sweater, my hat, my gloves, and my scarf—" you completely forgot that this wasn't your scarf, "—what else do you want? My socks?"
"Would you give them to me if I asked?" you tested, leaning closer.
He watched you playfully. "Can you ask nicely?"
"Please?"
The boy smiled as you reached out and pushed hair away of his face, then let your hand slide down until it rested on the warmth of his neck.
"See, there you go." he put his hand over yours and squeezed, luring you into false security. "No."
You conceded, wrinkling your nose at the thought of a volleyball player's socks and gagging.
"Worth a shot. Your socks probably stink anyway."
Thunder shook the earth outside the little safe haven that you and Suna claimed inside his car, pellets of rain drumming on the windshield in a mesmerizing sound. He ignored your words, switching on the windshield wipers as he opened the GPS on his phone.
"Wanna go back home?" he asked.
You hummed. "Your place or mine?"
He shrugged, shifting the gear to drive, pulling out of his parking spot. "I'm sure Tsumu misses you."
"I think Osamu does too," you added, "he's been sending me a lot of Instagram reels. I'm not sure how I feel about them. I didn't quite like the naked Santa Claus twerking at me."
"Stupidest videos you'll ever see in your life, just ignore it or say 'lmao.' Personally, I just started calling him weird."
"You're mean," you laughed, sticking your cold hands under your legs to warm them.
