✿————✿
Night time was usually quiet and lonely for you. A period where you were able to do whatever you wanted while the rest of the world was asleep, waiting for the Sun to rise. Unlike them, you liked the moon. The dim glow through the curtains, the quiet and stillness of the world, and the ability to do whatever you wanted before you had to live normally in the day time.
Suna's embrace was appreciated throughout the night. You loved having your limbs tangled with his, held against him as he slowly drifted off to sleep, fighting every second of it and acting like he wasn't tired while you giggled and soothingly played with his hair. You sent him off to dreamland with a kiss and the sincerest 'good night' that you had ever given anyone.
Then, you watched his eyes flutter shut, physically incapable of leaving them open any longer. And you laid there in his moonlight absorbed bedroom, listening to his soft breathing and studying his features as you waited for sleep to get to you next.
You waited.
And waited.
And decided that you hated waiting after three hours, watching the clock strike midnight. You groaned quietly, slowly untangling yourself from him and sitting up, bringing your knees to your chest and nearly being engulfed in the oversized shirt Suna had let you wear even though you had your own clothes tucked away in his closet. He was too far gone to react, eyes remaining shut and light breaths keeping their rhythm, even when you reached out and tried to fix the messiness of his hair haphazardly strewn against the pillow.
You kicked your feet over the edge of the bed, tiptoeing to the door and opening it, nearly blinded by the hallway light that both of you had forgotten to turn off, assuming one of the twins would. Squinting, you made your way out of the room, quietly shutting the door behind you.
You craved a change of scenery—or even a snack or something to entertain you since you obviously weren't ready for sleep. You didn't understand what the problem was. Were you still excited from your graduation? Or Suna's confession?
The thought of the confession made your heart skip a beat, heat rising in your chest and spreading up your neck and cheeks. The entire moment felt so utterly perfect: from him not realizing that he'd let it slip to the follow up confirmation to assure you that they were his true feelings.
He was the sweetest, not to mention the only person in the world that you craved to hear those words from, even if they did startle you at first—and they sure did startle you.
You regretted not saying it back in the moment, so overwhelmed with joy and excitement that you forgot what the standard response to that was until half an hour later when you were in the shower with him—in a very nonsexual manner—and staring deep into his eyes as water ran down your back. Then, right as the words were on the tip of your tongue, he started threatening to turn the water freezing cold and instead of saying the nice three little words, you'd threatened to kill him then and there.
You hoped you'd get another opportunity soon.
Out of the corner of your eye, a shape caught your attention. Piquing your curiosity, you turned your head, squinting to get a better view. When that didn't work, you stepped closer, crouching and moving your head in any angle you could to figure out what you had seen behind one of the small side tables in the living room. It looked familiar from the glimpses you had seen, but it wasn't until you kneeled in front of the table and looked behind it that you solved the mystery, mouth falling open out of surprise.
