"Holy shit." Someone says behind me but I can't seem to keep track anymore.
"You know, I was rather upset when I found out Mary had kicked you out of my home and then of course Elizabeth ran off after I had killed her."
"You killed Mother?" It felt like my blood was running cold.
"She wasn't your mother, she didn't birth you." He pauses as his grin seems to widen. "But you already know that."
The goddess was my actual mother? I never thought she meant literally.
"If I had been home that day it would have all ended very differently." He moves and sits down in the chair beside him, relaxing backwards as if this was normal.
"How would it have been any different?"
"Simple, you would have got your powers and killed those men, I would have got rid of Mary and Elizabeth of course. I could have trained you, you could have been incredible."
"She already is incredible, Jackass."
My fist clenches as his eyes move across the room.
"Tony Stark, I presume? A genius of a man from what I hear. It's a shame you don't know when a conversation doesn't include you."
"You said I got powers from you? She told me they were her gifts." I bring his focus back to me and thankfully Tony stays quiet.
"Of course she did. Always did think herself above all others." He looks down my body and then back up. "I know you can summon, as can I but what other powers do you hold?"
"Why do you think I would even tell you that?" I frown at him but he waves a hand up lazily.
"Because if you don't, Tony stark will die."
I turn my head quickly toward Tony, my jaw dropping as his suit is gone and there is a knife pointing at his throat.
"I'll tell you, please just don't hurt them." I concede, looking back at him when the knife vanishes. "I can make shields a-and I can focus my power into blasts or waves. Telekinesis, I can move things and my power will heal my own body."
I blurt it out to him, letting my voice shake and my words stammer but I keep my secrets. I already know this won't end well, I won't give him the upper hand.
"Shields you say? Is that for magic or physical things?" It's got his attention.
"Both, I can make them for either." I make my voice sound desperate.
"Hm, that's quite a list." He pauses as he rubs his chin. "So you can't shift or travel?"
So that's all he can do.
I make myself look confused and disappointed. "No, I used to be able to shift but she took it from me when she saved my life."
His face changes to pity. "I'm sorry Kathy darling, she can be kind and she can be cruel." He stands quickly and walks down the stairs. Stopping at the bottom and extending a hand toward me.
"Come, it's time for us to leave"
"I don't think so." Loki snarls as he steps into my periphery, Richard's eyes moving to him.
"I'm sorry. Who are you?" He frowns.
"I am Loki, of Asgard. And you will not be taking her anywhere." His voice is strong as a dangerous smile comes to his face.
"An Asgardian. Well this is a surprise. Who exactly are you to my daughter?"
"Her Fiancée."
"I don't think so. You never asked me for her hand and you certainly will not receive my blessing."
