Enemies to lover trope

Warnings: None, for this chapter;)

You hated waking up this morning, dreading the day that was about to come. Your friend, Madeline had begged you to come with her to her new boyfriend's house. Griffin Steinfeld. As long as you've known him, he was a good guy, very sweet and caring. You had no doubt he would take good care of your best friend. It was his sister you hated.

Hailee Fucking Steinfeld.

She'd always treat you like crap, calling you any degrading names that came to her mind.

You wouldn't consider her a "bully" since you always bickered back.

You hated having to be near her when Maddy dragged you to their table at lunch, having to listen to all her backhanded compliments.

This time was different, you'd be in her house. You would have no control over what you could do or say since it wasn't a public space.

Grabbing your phone, you texted Maddy

Y/N:
do i really have to go?

Maddy:
Yes! we're just gonna watch a movie it'll be fine!

Y/N:
You owe me big time, remember that.

Maddy:
😘

as you two drove up to the house, your mouth dropped open.
The house was huge. You forgot how rich the Steinfeld family was.

This must be why Hailee acts like such a spoiled brat. She's had everything she's ever wanted.

*Knock Knock*

"Hey! Glad you guys could make it!" Griffin said as he opened the door, opening it wider to let the two girls standing in front of him in.

"Hi baby" Maddy said, opening her arms to hug her boyfriend

you fake gagged "get a room"

Maddy rolled her eyes

"Well look at what the cat dragged in" Hailee stood, leaning on a door frame that led to the kitchen

"Hey Hailee!" Maddy greeted

"Hey" she responded, not breaking eye contact with you

"Not gonna say hi?" she directed towards you

"Hey, nice house you got here" you said in a monotone

"Thanks, i paid for it" she smirked, cockily

You both held the eye contact, as if it was a staring contest

Griffin felt the thick tension in the room

"uhm, anyway. You guys go sit in the living room, I'll make the popcorn. We can head to the theatre room after and start the movie."

You nodded back at him.

"Maddy would you help me with the popcorn?"

"Yeah, anything to get out of this situation right now!" she laughed as she walked off with him

and just like that, you were alone with Hailee.

You made your way to the couch, plopping yourself down, pulling out your phone to mindlessly scroll through instagram, responding to direct messages
