NATHAN
Nathan carried his 50kg adjustable dumbbell set in his home gym that morning, he was so glad it was a Saturday , at least he could rest, Andrew had a photography job that morning so Nathan was the only one at home , Nathan continued his exercise routine for few more minutes doing planks and sit-ups,he gulped down more water, breathing heavily as he left his gym into the sitting room satisfied with his workout for the day,he badly needed a shower, he thought heading to the bathroom.
*****
Nathan flipped between channels, wondering what to watch, he stopped at Fox News Channel and remembered that had been Andrea's favorite channel when they met as teenagers about ten years ago,he remembered the first day he met Andrea, it seemed like it was just yesterday.
NATHAN - 18
"But mom, I really don't want to go out"."You need to son, you have been locked inside your room and you would soon be off to college, It doesn't make sense to not have a few friends in the neighborhood ", his mum said picking an outfit for him to wear.
"Besides they have a very beautiful daughter, I am sure you guys would hit it off in no time".
"Mum...are you matchmaking us ", Nathan said bursting into laughter."Oh no son...why would I ?", trying her best to look innocent but he knew what she was driving out, he decided to play along, he didn't want his mum to suspect that he was into boys not girls, It would be a thing of shame to her, his mum was a deacon in their church and she had tried her best in raising her son well after his father died few months after their wedding, his mum was strong and he knew she loved him, but he was trying so hard to fit into the perfect image everyone in the church thought a minister's son should be, he was so tired of playing the perfect son image while deep down he was struggling, he couldn't wait to leave home so he could be free to live life the way he wanted to, he wanted freedom and the church was caging him with so many rules and restrictions, this wasn't the way he wanted to enjoy life, how could you enjoy life when you were bound by so many rules.
"Nathaniel..hurry....I told the Parkers we would be there early".
"Ok mum", Nathan said wearing his grey joggers and red polo , he looked into the mirror at his blue eyes and messy hair , he brushed his pixie cut hair making it look sleek , he applied some spray and went to the garage knowing that was where his mother would be .
He entered the car and they drove making small talk on the way before they finally turned into a blue mansion, the smell of freshly cut grass was evident in the well manicured lawn, the gateman allowed them to enter after making small talk with his mum.The car finally stopped and he was warmly received by a black haired man and woman with warm brown pleasant eyes.
"Good evening Nathan..your mum has told us so many beautiful things about you ", the woman said."Thank you ma", Nathan said as polite as he could have ever been.
They walked with his mum at the front with Nathan dragging his feet behind, the door opened into one of the most luxurious houses he had ever seen, the interior was cream colored and the chandelier hung nicely from the ceiling.
"Andrea", he heard the dark haired woman call someone's name, that was probably the lady his mum was thinking of matchmaking him with.
"Please make yourselves at home...you are like a son to us", he heard the man say and he gave a fake smile, were they kidding, he hoped there weren't hoping for anything to happen between him and Andrea.
"Andrea would join you quickly, we would be back, we want to show your mum around", the woman said passing through a beautiful mahogany door and disappearing from his sight.
Nathan waited for a long time before Andrea finally descended from upstairs and he was struck by her beauty, her hair was black and lustrous and her eyes were like those of her parents, he had to admit she was beautiful and her kind of beauty was rare but was he attracted to her, definitely not.
