ANDREA "Andrea...you have got to explain to me..how did you reconnect with him?", Alice asked as they both stayed in the living room that day.
"I also have questions for him too....but he was the one who came to see us , he said he hired a private investigator to look for us and he that he has forgiven me".
"Wow....God really works in mysterious ways... like who would have thought?".
"Funny how today I was praying for wisdom on how to go about meeting him at least for Beatrice's sake" . "I am so happy for you Andrea...what of your parents?".
"When I find wherever they are..I would book a flight and take Beatrice to them...Beatrice hasn't seen any of her grandparents since I had her".
"Wow..sounds like a good idea".
The door opened forcing the two of them to stop their conversation as they looked at Nathan and Beatrice together, Nathan was carrying Beatrice in his hands , and they both looked at each other with love, Andrea brought out her phone and captured the moment .
"Awwwwn", Alice said but gave a frown when she saw the time,"Babe...I need to get going". "Ok sweetie", Andrea said hugging her friend and waving goodbye.
"Bye bye Mrs Alice", Beatrice said waving at her.
"Bye bye buttercup".
Beatrice fixed her attention on her dad completely forgetting that Andrea was there and Andrea understood, the little girl was happy to have her dad by her side and was willing to make use of the time they had , Andrea climbed upstairs and sat on her bed.
She couldn't help the onslaught of questions that invaded her mind, was Nathan dating someone, was he still into guys, was he seeing someone else, was it a lady perhaps, what was going to happen if he married someone else and only had time for Beatrice few times...and was there any hope for a relationship between them, she almost slapped herself as she thought of the last statement .
She laid on her bed, staring at the ceiling, she decided to pray, "Lord I hand over my worries and questions to you...let your will be done in my life".
She felt at peace after the prayer , she heard a knock on the door ,"who's it?". "Nathan". She stood up checking her appearance in the mirror , what did she think she was doing, besides she knew the main reason for Nathan's visit was not her but Beatrice.
She opened the door looking at Nathan at her door.
"What about Beatrice?".
"She's asleep..she showed me your room while I was taking her to her room".
"Ok", she wondered why he knocked.
"I still have my things in the hotel...was planning on informing you before I left". Andrea felt her heart sink, but what was expecting, that Nathan came to check on her. "I would be back tomorrow to check on her".
"Ok...it's better to come in the evening since she has school".
"Also I wanted to ask for your permission to pick her from school".
Andrea heart sank the more, but he deserved a chance with his daughter.
"Ok I agree ...how long would you be staying?".
"Two weeks because I still have office work to do".
"I understand", but did she, did her heart understand that?.
"Thanks...when I get back I would be giving you a call so that I speak with her....then we can figure out an arrangement for how we can take care of her together ".
Andrea nodded,she was hurt but it wasn't Nathan's fault, she didn't know why her heart was still abhoring feelings for him.
Andrea decided to see him off and they walked in comfortable silence till she decided to break it,"Nathan have you heard any news about my parents...I haven't seen them in a while".
"I think my mum should know....would tell her to send it to you...put your number here", he said giving his phone to her. Andrea nodded and put her number.
"Would give you a call later so you can save my number", Nathan said entering the car he had rented for his stay here.
They both bid each other goodbye and Andrea walked inside with tears rolling down her face, she didn't know why she was crying, maybe she was hoping for the start of something new between them, but it seemed like that was never going to happen .
