SHEILA
Sheila drank more bottles of beer, she was on her sixth bottle, she tried her best blocking out her thoughts but failed miserably, for the last few days whenever she tried to sleep , she would usually have nightmares and all she could see in her nightmare was that she was sitting in a pool of blood, and scattered around her , were different body parts of dead babies, she really didn't want to fall asleep, so she drank more and more, she checked her phone, no calls from anyone, nobody had checked up on her, this was a revelation of how bankrupt she was of friends, she checked her Instagram page, she saw her followers were increasing and more people were commenting on her previous pictures, to what end was all this going to be, was this all there was to life, how could people envy her life while she hated her own life, why live when we would all die, what was the purpose of life, were we meant to keep on working and then leave this earth one day, what was the right way to live and what was truth itself, she stood up from the floor and looked at all the beautiful things in her house, she checked her closet, and saw she had thousands of clothes, and so what, she couldn't even wear all of them in a year and she would always want to buy more, what then was the use, she sighed sitting on the floor, how could she find satisfaction, she remembered her conversation with the old man she had meet , maybe she could meet him again, thank God the night was still young, and she never got drunk easily, she took her car keys and made her way downstairs.
*******
Sheila arrived at the place she had seen the old man , she got out of the car , everywhere was freezing but she didn't care, she needed answers, she was drowning in sorrow, she wished she had worn something thicker though, she decided to walk further down, she really wanted to see the man again because she had questions, she made a turn to the right which led to another street but she hit someone mistakenly."I am sorry", she said looking at the stranger she hit, he was a young man presumably in his late 20's , he was probably Caucasian, he smiled at her and she just nodded and was taking her leave.
"Are you looking for someone?", he asked making her turn abruptly, maybe he could help
.
"Yes...there's this old man I met months ago...I think his name is Enoch", she said shivering in the cold."Hmmm...I have no idea who he is though....but you look like you need some help, are you okay?", he asked looking at her in concern, Sheila looked at him, she wanted to give him a taste of the old Sheila that was always rude, she wanted to tell him that they were not in the same class, but the events that had happened to Sheila had changed her and she realized that even with a lot of money, it couldn't fix all of her personal problems.
"No , thank you", Sheila said turning and leaving him standing, but where was she going to, she wondered, when she saw that she was about making another turn , she decided to turn back to where her car was and on getting to where her car was, she saw the old man standing beside it, she ran hugging him.
"Sir...I have been looking for you"."I know", he said as they separated.
"How sir?", Sheila said shocked, did that young man tell him but he said he didn't know who he was.
"God told me someone was looking for me and he told me to come here".
"Really", Sheila said tearing up, so God was mindful of her.
"So tell me what happened?", Sheila broke down as she narrated everything that had happened in her life since she left home, Enoch listened attentively .
"I just feel so much guilt you know...and I am starting to hate myself the more, when I think of how I have treated everyone in the past, I wonder if I even deserve to live".
"Regardless of what you think of yourself, I want to tell you what God thinks about you, he says in Jeremiah 31:3, that he has loved you with a love that has no end and he's showing his love to you so that you will move towards him".
