ANDREA
Andrea walked into the amusement park carrying Beatrice in her hands, they were in frontier city in Oklahoma City, it had been a long drive but it had definitely been worth it as the smile on Beatrice's face grew larger with every step they took, they passed through the gift shop and walked further, the atmosphere was full of so much joy as different parents were laughing with their toddlers, everywhere was lively and the different rides were filled with different people yelling and making noises, it seemed like today was going to be so much fun."Buttercup...which ride do you want to go in first?".
"That one", she said, her fingers pointing towards the inverted roller coaster ride, Silver bullet.
"Okay, let's go",she dropped Beatrice down and they walked towards it, Beatrice ran faster than her leaving Andrea behind, Beatrice's energy was on a 110% and Andrea couldn't keep up.
"Hi beautiful", a man walking towards her said as he looked at her fingers and smirked to himself.
"Sorry Mr, but I don't know you", Andrea said walking off but was surprised when he blocked her path.
"It's just a friendly conversation, it doesn't have to go so bad ".
"I am Tyler", he said stretching his hand for a handshake.
"Andrea", she said finally returning the handshake .
"Mummy", she heard Beatrice's voice , Beatrice finally ran to where she was standing and the man abruptly pulled back his hands away looking at her with disgust.
"Is he my daddy mummy?", Beatrice asked with curiosity, Oh no Beatrice was definitely ruining things for her.
"I am not...and I don't think I am interested anymore", Tyler said walking off with an irritated look on his face, so what if she was a single mum, that didn't give him the right to look at her that way, her mood was ruined for today.
"Come on Beatrice..let's get going", Andrea said pulling her daughter's hand with her.
"But mummy the ride".
"We would do that another day Beatrice", she said dragging Beatrice away from the amusement park into the car park .
Andrea opened the backseat door putting Beatrice inside and entering the front door.
Beatrice was sobbing, "Mummy why do you get so upset when I ask about my daddy".
Great, now Beatrice wanted answers."Mummy, please tell me the truth, did daddy hurt you?", Beatrice asked, her innocent question caused Andrea to burst into a fountain of tears, she had always tried her best to be strong in front of Beatrice but it wasn't easy every time, especially when she innocently asked questions about her father, Andrea could still remember the pain Nathan caused her and she hadn't gotten over it now it was affecting her relationship with her daughter.
"Oh mummy...I am so sorry, he must have hurt you really bad", Beatrice said hugging her mum from her place in the backseat.
"Don't worry mummy...I wouldn't ask you questions about daddy again...I promise", Beatrice said patting her mother's back.
Beatrice was so sweet but didn't she deserve to know, maybe one day she would finally get over the pain Nathan caused her and try to mend the bridge between them for the sake of their daughter , maybe one day but for now she couldn't.
NATHAN
Nathan must have slept off on the couch that evening, why wasn't Andrew back, he wondered looking at the time, it was almost 6pm, he looked at his surroundings and saw that there was still no sign of Andrew, he was about taking his phone to call Andrews when he heard a knock on the door, he ran towards it expecting to see Andrew but was shocked at who was standing before him, someone he hadn't seen for over a decade though she looked older, she still had those dimples on her cheek whenever she smiled.
