(Shino's pov)

I walked outside of the house and saw Artemis again. I gave a small laugh before walking over to him

"What is it with us meeting up at night?" I said kinda laughing

Artemis didn't know I was coming and jumped for a second before looking at me "S-shino! You scared me

I sat down next to him "sorry sorry"

He took a deep breath "your fine"

I looked over to him and noticed a cupcake with a candle in it "what's with the cupcake?"

"Oh- uh" Artemis seemed to have  gotten embarrassed "today is my birthday..."

"Really?" I asked

"Y-yeah" he said

"Funny enough it's mine too" I say

"Is that why Kiyo and Sapphire was calling you old?" He asked

I sighed "yeo, turned 17"

"Oh? Well happy birthday" Artemis smiled "what some of the cupcake?"

"I'm good thank you" I say

He nods and just holds the cupcake

"Think this is the happiest I've seen you in awhile" I comment

"I guess so, its kinda like a free moment" Artemis says "I don't know how to explain it"

I thought about something for a second "if it's your birthday why didn't anyone say anything?"

"Oh- they did well to me like wishing me a happy birthday and stuff" said Artemis

"Got any gifts?" I asked him

"Uh- n...no" He said "we don't really have much to give, but we all spent time together and it was fun"

"Guessing that's before a few of us came over" I say and he nodded his head

"How have things been? At the kingdom" Artemis asked

"Eh- people are worried and all, Moodswing is still doing her best and some of the knights and ones in trainings are confused on why we are not around, but we just say we are looking for the king" I caught me up

"Well you are looking for the king, so that's not a lie" said Artemis

I laughed "guess so"

I just stared at him for a few seconds bedore asking "can I give you a gift?"

"Uh- sure" He said "you don't need to th-"

I put a hand on his cheek and my other one accidentally was on one of Artemis' hand

I had went in for a kiss, which made me accidentally cut off what Artemis was saying

I froze for a second, then pulled back, Artemis was looking at me in shock

"I-uh" I had just realized what I had did... What I said

I got off of the grass 'why did I do that? I- I he he is a bad quirk, what did I do?'

"Shino?" He called out... I was too lost in thought to answer

'why would I kiss him? He- we can't even be... He' s banished... He is banished to protect us- what? Why... What do I do?'

"S-shino" He asked, he was getting up into his feet "Shino what's wrong?"

'wrong? Wrong? Everything... Everything I just did... At least I think' I didn't know what to say to him

I just backed up from him before running off, where? At first I didn't know until I shock my head and made my way back to the kingdom

(Artemis' pov)

I sighed when I saw Shino run off... I had a feeling as to why... And it hurt

After everything... After all of our talks he still can't get the rule... The banshement out of his head

Why did I let him close... I knew all they would do is hurt me...hurt us

I took a deep breath trying to keep myself from crying... I thought something was there... And maybe there was but he still can't get over the ruling

As I walked back to the house I kept taking deep breaths trying to calm myself and trying to not cry
