I stood before the large building, adjusting my blazer before looking down at my phone to make sure I had the right place. I put my phone inside my purse before walking into the building, looking around a bit confused, not knowing where to go.
"Are you here for an interview, ma'am?" I hear a woman ask at the desk, I walk over.
"Yes, I'm here for the assistant position." I reply, shuffling through my bag to pass over the letter I received from Mr. Choi about a week ago. The woman took the paper from my hand, looking it over. As I waited patiently, looking around watching workers bustle about, most waiting by the elevators to go up to their floor.
"Ms. Seong." I turn my head to look back at the front desk woman, who was holding a badge out to me. "Mr. Seo will see you in his office, it's on floor twenty, you go to your right, make a left.." She began to list a whole bunch of instructions, most went in one ear and out the other.
"I can take her there." A deep voice spoke behind me, turning my head to find a tall male with glasses, his suit's buttons seeming about to snap at any moment.
"Oh wonderful, good luck Ms. Seong." The woman said with a smile as she waved me off while I followed the man. He looked about the same age as Jake, was he an intern maybe? Or perhaps an office worker? No way, people greeted him with respect meaning he's a higher up.
We stepped into an elevator once it opened, the two of us standing side by side, a comfortable silence stretched between the both of us. Once the elevator reached its floor he stepped out and I followed. "Are you nervous?" The man asked, gaining my attention.
"Somewhat, but the worst he can do is send me away without getting the position." I replied with a shrug, glancing at him for a moment.
"I suppose you are right." He replied with a chuckle as he escorted me into an empty office with a name plaque saying, Samuel Seo on it. It clicked in my head as I stepped inside and he followed me. "Shall we get started then?" He questioned as he sat down behind the desk, looking at a file which I can only guess was my resume.
I nodded, going to sit across from him, keeping my head high, back straight, and hands on my lap. "Of course, ask away." I say with a small smile.
Just like any interview, I couldn't fumble my words and had to answer questions after giving some a little thought. An interview is all about how one presents themselves, the level of their professionalism, and if they can walk the talk. There is no harm in exaggerating a truth or telling a small lie, as long as you actually do the job presented to you that is.
"I see you are a student, can you work during the week?" He questioned, glancing at the file before looking up at me.
I smiled, "As long as my shift starts after school, then yes." I replied with a small nod.
He hummed as he glanced over the file once more sighing, "I admit this is all a formality. Once I viewed your file I knew you'd be a great fit for the job. Can you start tomorrow afternoon?" He questioned, placing his elbows on the desk and clasping his hands.
I blinked, a bit surprised before smiling as I nodded, "Yeah, what time do you need me here?"
I stepped out of the office smiling in victory to myself, now I don't have to ask my mother for money all the time. "It went well I assume." I looked to the side to see Goo with his usual grin as he stood up, going to walk by my side.
"It did. What are you doing here?" I questioned as I went to press the down button for the elevator.
Goo shrugged, "Just wanted to be the first to hear the news." He claimed as he draped an arm across my shoulders. "When do you start?"
