THE GROUP OF TEENAGERS TIREDLY made their way back through the forest in search of the demo dogs. Steve's arm provided a sturdy anchor for Dani as they continued to walk, his hand warm against her side as they followed the faint gleam of moonlit tracks ahead. A mystery was before them, their mission to track down the demodogs and prevent them from spreading throughout the entire town.
Dani's brow furrowed with discomfort, her breaths shallow as she pressed on, determined despite the ache in her injured leg. Concern etched lines of worry on Steve's face, his protective gaze never wavering from her as they moved forward. "You shouldn't have gone out there, Dani," he sighed, his eyes moving briefly to where Allison guided the younger teens, their voices mingling with the sounds of the night. "It was dangerous, and you got hurt."
