AS SOON ASDani stepped outside, the crisp autumn air greeted her, fallen leaves crunching beneath her feet. She twirled a pair of keys she had snatched from the table, Neil's keys, in her hand before slipping them into the ignition and starting the car. The engine roared to life, competing against the harsh whistle of the breeze. Driving down the unfamiliar roads, the redhead admired the long rows of quaint houses, their secrets hidden behind closed doors. The sunlight filtered through the canopy of trees, casting dappled shadows that danced along the pavement.
The town square appeared in her line of sight, her eyes softening at the places surrounded by residents who visit on a daily basis. She watched as she passed the arcade, seeing a brief glint of the flaming ginger hair of her younger sister. Smiling, she drove on, knowing that Max was eventually going to like it there.
