"You can ask me stuff, you know?" Maya said carefully as she swallowed the last bite of her sandwich. "I won't be mad, or start crying." She joked. She had noticed Carina's hesitancy around asking any sort of questions about their family or relationship.

"I know." Carina smiled back.

"Good," Maya said and once again an awkward silence fell over them.

"It's just that you seem hesitant to ask, and I don't want you to, I want to tell you about our life, but it feels like you don't want to know. And that's okay." Maya said even though she wasn't really sure if she thought it was. "But I want you to know that you can, if you want to."

"Breathe, Maya." Carina chuckled. "You're cute when you're nervous."

"I'm not nervous." Maya exclaimed.

"No?" Carina smirked.

"Fine, maybe just a little nervous. But this is weird, right?"

"Very." They both laughed. "I am a little nervous too. To be totally honest, Maya I am very scared of what I will find out. Ten years is such a long time. And I really didn't see myself settling down and building a family any time soon. I am just trying to wrap my brain around being married and having a child, and one on the way."

"I understand. But like I said, I am here. Ready when you are. Also I think those two that you mentioned, marriage and kids are the biggest changes. I promise, well also the fact that you have a different blonde now then you did then, but that kind of flows into the marriage part."

"Are you a jealous person?" Carina asked. She tried to make it sound unrelated to what Maya had just said, but when the blonde narrowed her eyes at her she knew she had failed.

"Normally no, but with you. Yeah. Not like in a possessive way, but just I don't like thinking of you with anybody else, but we both have pasts and I am okay with that."

"We both have pasts? What is that supposed to mean?"

"I just, hmm. You are my first serious relationship and I know I am one of yours too, except for Arizona, so." Maya let her draw her own conclusion to that.

"So we both slept around alot?" Carina teased.

"Yeah," Maya agreed.

"You can call Arizona, you know. If you need closure or whatever. I promise to not be too jealous."

"Yeah, you said. I just wouldn't know what to say. Did it happen a long time ago?"

"Your breakup?"

"Yeah."

"I think nine years or something. I am not really sure, but we met like eight years ago." Maya said, smiling fondly at the memory.

"Tell me about it?" Carina asked and got comfortable on the bed.

"Our first meeting?" Carina nodded.

"Okay, well we were at Joe's and you asked to buy me a drink and we went home together." Maya explained.

"You are not a good storyteller," Carina scoffed playfully.

"That's what happened!" Maya said.

"No, but I want the details, what did we talk about? Do you remember what we were wearing? Did we dance? Did we go to your place or mine? Details, Maya."

"Hmm well okay." Maya tried. "I was already sitting by the bar, I was drinking alone because I was sad. You cam-"

"Why were you sad?" Carina interrupted.
