Nicki - Entry 5

 While Nicki managed to dodge the tentacles as they closed in around her, their follow-up attacks kept her on her toes. Each time she dodged one, another would come after her while the first prepared to strike again. She wasn't having trouble evading the barrage, but if it dragged on for too long she'd eventually slip up.

On that thought, one of the tentacles managed to graze Nicki's thigh. Pain shot through her leg and almost tripped her up, but she had push it aside as some of the tentacles were rushing her as a group. She brought her hands together to create one big cyclone and aimed it at them. As it flew from her hands, she leaned into its force and launched herself out of tentacle cluster.

To Nicki's surprise, the tentacles were shredded under the force of her cyclone. She'd hoped to deal some damage with the attack, but this level of damage was unexpected. When the rest of the tentacles came after her, she used a similar cyclone to mow them down just as easily as the others.

With the tentacles taken care of she returned her attention to the head, but had to brace herself when a blast of wind collided into her. She was knocked back, but couldn't rebalance herself because the wind around her began to pull on her with growing force. A wind funnel took shape around her as she was dragged through the air toward the creature's gaping jaws.

Gravity became redundant against the intensity of the wind, which forced Nicki to angle her board to compensate. She also poured all her power into the cyclones in her hands and under her board to fight the pull. But as the intensity continued to grow, she continued to advance closer to the gaping maw.

Most of Nicki's power was focused on slowing the funnel's pull, but she had to break out. She tried to angle her hands' cyclones at a slight angle, which caused her to slowly drift to the side toward the edge of the funnel. Once she got close enough, she'd try to break through with her cyclones. But when she got a few feet away from the edge, a tentacle shot into the funnel and cut her off.

The sudden jolt hurled Nicki back to the center of the funnel and brought her even closer to the creature. More tentacles rushed threw the funnel toward her and nudged her closer and closer as she was knocked off balance trying to dodge them. Soon she was close enough to see the inside of the creature's throat, which began to lung toward her.

As the creature rushed her, the air funnel began to dissipate and Nicki was launched through the air behind the force of her cyclones. But the creature seemed to fly through the air behind her and loomed over her as she started to descend toward the surface of the ocean. Acting fast, she threw a burst of wind downward and began to climb back into the air. The creature lifted its head trying to follow her as she rose higher. But it could only scrape her board with one of its teeth before crashing back into the water.

Nicki continued to climb higher into the sky until she was out of reach of the tentacles and watched the creature resurface. Now that she could get a good look at it, she could see that it had changed. A sickly green hue coated the creature's scales, the tips of its tentacles were now metallic arrowheads with sharpened teeth and a pair of green eyes which glared at her.
