~ Jane's POV ~

I sat there with my arms clutched around my stomach for god knows how long. My head was throbbing and poor Glenn was helping some guy on the floor. Never trusting a pizza delivery guy to plan anything ever again. I was watching him tend to the old man when he looked towards the door. Looking over I let out a sigh of relief. It was Rick, T-Dog, and Daryl. I was so glad to see them. Rick whispered something to the man who took us. He must've explained how stupid it was to take us hostage. I stood up, hugging my side and walked over to Rick. The old woman who helped me talk to Glenn came over.

"Did you get the guns?"

Rick looked at the old woman with confusion then back at me.

"He said yes."

"Tell him I lost my hearing aid in the alley when I hit my head."

Rick's brow furrowed. I could tell he was upset. I'm a liability now. Useless. I may be a good shot but it doesn't mean shit if I can't hear someone coming.

"Tell him-" I hesitated, "Tell him I know Im a liability now so I'll leave if he wants."

The second those words left the woman's mouth everyone in the group looked at me. They were shocked. Their people are good people. They don't deserve to die because of my problem. My family doesn't deserve to die.

"We'll talk about it when we get back."

The look on Daryl's face was...frustration? The others looked sad but when he glared at Rick it was like he was mad for not immediately saying no. I haven't been around people for so long I forgot what it's like. Maybe I was misinterpreting the look in his burning blue eyes but I just couldn't see through him. I watched as Rick gave them a few guns to help protect the elderly. It was amusing that the same people who beat and kidnapped me just wanted to take care of those old people. In a way, I understand. The night was approaching. It was going to be dark soon which could only mean one thing. Danger.

Everyone stopped their conversations.

I was still holding my side when I noticed the panicked looks on everyone's faces. Stopping in my tracks I realized the van was gone. Turns out I was late to the party. It was supposed to be next to the train tracks but it wasn't. Just great. Someone stole our van.

"We left it right here. Who would take it?" Glenn's lips were getting easier to read.

I didn't want to say it out loud but I had an idea.

"Merle." Rick scowled, looking over at Daryl.

Chaos ensued the second we made it back. Walkers were everywhere. Everyone was panicking but for me is was silent. There was no undead groaning. No gunshots. Nothing. I reached for my bow but realized I didn't have it. Useless. Suddenly a walker grabbed me, pushing me against the RV. It gnawed its teeth, nearly biting down on my neck before an arrow pierced its skull. It fell to the ground and I looked up to see Daryl standing a couple feet away. He threw me my bow and quiver, covering me while I climbed on top of the RV. One. Two. Three. I shot clean through their skulls. Four. Five. Six. It didn't last long. As quickly as it all started, the shooting ceased. It was over.

I looked around with fear in my heart. My eyes searching every inch for Carol and Sophia. I spotted Andrea laying on the ground next to a body. It was her sister, Amy. I could feel my chest get tight as I held back the thought of my family getting torn to shreds. I didn't want to look. Suddenly someone grabbed me from behind and turned me around. It scared me. They almost got a knife to the skull. I thought they were a walker until I looked into their eyes. It was Carol. I squeezed her. Holding on for what seemed like forever.
