YESEUL

Yeseul sat at the couch of her parents' house, staring at the person across her who happily conversed with his parents.

The last thing she anticipated when her parents yelled at her to open the gate was to see her ex whom she clearly remembered to stir clear away from her until she had a worthwhile answer to give him. Her loud outburst upon catching sight of the person outside the gate garnered her parents' attention, which eventually led to Niki earning an invite from her parents to join them for the evening. To make matters more difficult for her, he didn't even think twice about the invitation and immediately agreed to it, handing out the bouquet of her favorite flowers to her mother instead of her.

If she were to be honest, she couldn't quite decide what she was more upset with. Was it the fact he appeared outside of her family's house after what she said to him or was it because he did not give her the bouquet of red roses that he held firmly when she opened the gate?

Now, Yeseul sat at her couch with both her arms crossed as her parents bombard Niki with questions in hopes of catching up on the years they did not see each other. Her parents has always loved him like a son. Their treatment towards him was exactly the same as how his family treats her, which made their relationship back then a breeze, with nothing to get in the way of anything. She gawked at how happy her parents looked seeing him once more, and she came to realize they must've really loved him a lot because despite knowing everything that went through in their breakup, their demeanor didn't falter for a bit.

"What are you doing here, Niki?" Yeseul hadn't meant to sound rude but the tone naturally slipped out that her mother instantly hits her at the back of the head. "Ow! Mom! What was that for?!"

"Don't talk rudely with our guest!" Her mother scolds her as she took a seat next to her husband, who stopped talking with Niki to watch his wife talk to their daughter.

Yeseul glared. "That's my ex, mom! I can talk to him however I like— Ow!" She earns yet another slap in the back of her head.

"Sorry about her, Niki. You know how she is. Always speaks before she thinks." Her mom apologizes in her behalf. "Now tell us! What brings you here? You know, your mother and I would talk every now and then about the two of you!"

Niki chuckles. "I'm here actually for Yeseul. I want to talk to her about something." He says, looking at her while he answered her mother's question.

The sincerity in his eyes while he said those words almost broke down the walls she was desperately trying to hold since he first entered her house. She can't let anything sway her judgement, not even the sight of her ex being doted upon by her parents which never seemed to not affect her. So she focused on keeping herself quiet all while Niki spoke to them while casually glimpsing at her every now and then to check on her reaction. The questions asked upon him varied really, a minute ago they were asking him about what he's studying and then later on they would switch to asking him about his family whom they got along well.
