Our eyes connect from across the room. The way his icy, blue eyes are drinking me in has me burning up from the inside out. Taking a sip of my wine, I attempt to pull my eyes away but can't. He's absolutely devastating, unlike any man I've ever seen before.

Including the one next to me, who happens to be my fiancé— one who wouldn't hesitate to kill me for looking at another man like this. Or for doing anything he wouldn't approve of, honestly. It shouldn't scare me after 6 years, but it does and the pain never gets easier.

I've spent so long not protecting myself from him but protecting him from everyone else, from knowing what he truly is underneath that blonde hair and pretty face— Lucifer.

But nobody compares to him, the man slowly striding towards us. I look to my fiancé, but realize he's walked off, and it's just me and the tragically beautiful man approaching. Nobody makes me feel like he does. When he smiles at me, my knees feel weak and my heart thumps wildly. His warm, spicy cologne fills my nose, and I watch his mouth, anticipating the sound of his deep, silky voice.

Leaning down to kiss me on the cheek, he whispers, "Hello, little imposter." He pulls back and I look into his cold, dead eyes, seeing the man behind the mask— Hades.

Two dangerous men, each in their own ways. Both of them want me and both are determined to do whatever it takes to keep me.

And I'm fucking terrified.
