"Well, well, well, look who we have here," he pauses for dramatic effect. "Ms. Elliot, to what do we owe the pleasure this afternoon?"

That rich, deep voice does such sinful things to me that I feel the need to run to a confessional every time I have an interaction with this man. And the way he just dragged out my name and used the word pleasure in the same sentence makes me want to drag my nails down his back.

I turn around to face the towering figure behind me and make direct eye contact with him. The way his eyes drop to my breasts and back up to my face has me getting warmer by the second. His jaw is moving up and down and I realize it's because he's chewing a piece of gum. His jaw flexes as he chews and it has me distracted for a second before I pull my shit together.

"The pleasure was supposed to be me bringing my wonderful fiancé lunch, but it seems as if he's otherwise occupied now."

"Ah, yeah the lunch meeting. Unfortunate that he had to step out... but then I wouldn't have gotten the pleasure of getting to speak with you. Funny how things work out, isn't it?"

The way we keep using the word pleasure doesn't go unnoticed by me. "Yeah, so funny," I scoff, rolling my eyes to drive my sarcasm home. "I'm going to be eating with my friend in a few minutes anyways, so you can just run off and do whatever it is you do best around here. Probably tormenting people if I had to guess." I flash him a petty smile and notice that Emma is discreetly watching us from behind the computer screen.

"You're right, I do love tormenting people. Even put it on my resume when I applied here, actually. I like to think that Brett related to it a lot, which is part of why he hired me." He shoots me an even sinister smile back and at this point I know we're in a war that neither of us will win.

Before I can reply with something snide, he gestures next to him. "Since your friend seems to be busy and you have some time to kill, why don't you join me for a little stroll around the office?"

Why this man would ever think that I would want to go anywhere with him is beyond me. But... I'm also really curious to see what he might have to say, and I never get time to explore the office since Brett is usually busy and pushes me out after a few minutes. I'm sure I'll regret this later, but at least we're around other people and Payton will be done in a few minutes anyways.

He flashes me a smile that has me buckling at the knees and before I can think, I reply, "Fuck it, why not."

"Good choice." The way he says it almost sounds like a praise and it sparks a fire in me that I'm not sure how to put out.

After a 10 minute tour of the office and several stares from some pervs, we stop in front of a door with Silas' name on it.

"'Silas Bennett, Chief Sales Officer'. Wow, so official. You got your name on a plaque and everything. I bet it inflates your 'wittle' ego to an astronomical size seeing that everyday."

A deep laugh, so low it vibrates through me, straight to my clit and then he says softly, "My ego amongst other things." He throws me a quick wink and I'm immediately imagining what this man's dick would look like before silently scolding myself.

"I actually just finished setting everything up in here finally. Care to take a look?"

I begin listing all of the reasons why it wouldn't be smart to be in an enclosed room with him, but my body has other plans because I'm already nodding yes to him. What is wrong with me today? I'm practically following this guy around like a lost puppy. Or rather a thirsty, desperate one.

He leads me in first and I'm greeted by his cologne, along with the underlying smell of coffee. It comforts me in a strange way that I don't even feel like unpacking right now. Everything is dark wood and black with deep green accents. It feels dark and dangerous, but also inviting and safe. It's obvious he's put a lot of thought into this space, and I don't blame him considering he has to spend over 40 hours a week here. The floor to ceiling windows are bringing in the most delicious natural light and I walk over to look out onto the city.
