kakucho dropped you off at headquarters the next morning, making sure you got to your place safely before excusing himself to take care of some business.

your muscles were so sore and tight from the night before, but you tried your best to walk and sit normally. either way, you didn't mind it (or how you got that way).

after you went into your apartment to change your clothes, you went and knocked on rindou's door, but he didn't seem to be home. although for all you knew, mikey could've told him to avoid you too.

speaking of the man, you were going to see him.

you took the elevator downstairs, passing through the empty common room before knocking on the door to his office. when you heard mikey on the other side telling you to come in, you took a deep breath and opened the door.

mikey was at his desk for once, and takeomi was standing off to the left of him. you took a couple steps into the room, lingering in the doorway in case he told you to leave.

"hi guys. mikey, do you have a minute to chat? i have a question for you." you asked, giving them your best smile.

mikey stared at you for a beat too long, as if he already knew there was something up.

"yeah." he responded.

"great." you said, closing his office door behind you and making your way to mikey's desk.

you were expecting takeomi to excuse himself, but he made no such moves.

i guess he'll get to see this live, you thought as you briefly made eye contact with the scarred man. he gave you a questioning look, slightly tilting his head to the side, but you turned your attention back to the mikey.

you walked behind mikey's desk and leaned back slightly onto it so you could look at him. you put your hands down on either side of you to steady yourself.

he just stared back at you, waiting for you to start the conversation.

"remember the last time we hung out?" you asked.

mikey hummed in agreement, his eyebrows furrowing slightly.

"do you remember what you told me?"

"we talked a lot." he said with a slight smile, recalling the fond memory of you spending the night.

"you told me that you didn't care who i slept with. is that still true?" you asked.

"yeah."

"good." you said.

mikey was anticipating you to get up and leave after that, but you remained in place, staring at him.

he started to open his mouth to ask if there was more when you decided to speak again.

"did you tell kakucho to stay away from me?" you asked.

mikey's eyes went wide as your smile dropped and your face became serious, much more serious than he had ever seen.

"i-" he started.

"i don't know why you said that to him, but you knew i was upset he was avoiding me. i confided in you." you said, interrupting him.

"you never said it was kakucho." he deflected.

it was one of the worst excuses he could've given, but mikey was so caught off guard by your accusation that he had no idea how to act.

"you knew who i was talking about. why did you lie to me?" you asked.

takeomi raised his eyebrows, peeking out of the corner of his eyes to see how mikey was reacting.
