"boss.. what did you do?" kakucho asked mikey.
mikey let out a sigh.
"i may have given her..." he started, making the others (besides takeomi) sit in suspense.
"a tracking device." he said carefully, his eyes going over each of his men to gauge their reactions.
"why would she accept that?" mochi turned to ask koko.
"sshhhshhh!" koko hushed him, not wanting his attention to be taken away from the scene at hand.
"so she doesn't know it's a tracker." ran concluded. "what was it?"
mikey glanced over at takeomi again, who he hoped would start talking to save him the embarrassment of telling everyone.
"this was your idea, mikey. explain it yourself." takeomi said.
"i gave her a keychain that has a tracking device on the inside."
a brief silence filled the room. they weren't surprised by this behavior since they knew mikey had been possessive of you, but still...
"jesus christ mikey." kakucho said, shaking his head.
"i don't blame the boss, personally." sanzu shrugged. "we did lose her once before."
"but to not tell her? i'm pretty sure she would've still taken it if you just asked her to." rindou pointed out.
"she wouldn't. i'm not one of you." mikey said. "and i'm on thin ice with her already."
"besides that, you think she took it with her?" takeomi asked, getting back on topic.
"yeah, i watched her put her keys on it." mikey answered. "koko, bring me your computer."
despite sitting on top of his desk with his own computer lying right next to him, koko stood up and took it over to mikey without complaint.
mikey opened it and opened a new tab, trying to remember what website to go to while the others talked.
"so if this doesn't work, what other options do we have?" kakucho asked.
"she stopped at a convenience store on her way to the cemetery. we can check that out." ran said before glancing down at his watch. "it's been about a couple hours since we last saw her location, so we need to act now."
someone started to speak until mikey interrupted.
"i have her location." he said.
"you mean the location of the keychain?" takeomi corrected.
"yeah, that."
"okay, let's go then?" kakucho asked, already sitting on the edge of his seat.
"guys.. how do we know this isn't just a ploy?" mochi asked.
"what the fuck are you saying?" rindou asked, his gaze narrowing slightly.
"we just went over this." kakucho sighed.
"all i'm saying is you guys might be blinded by her pu-"
"shut the fuck up. it's not about that." sanzu snapped.
"somebody's jealous." koko mumbled.
"feelings for her could cloud your judgment. just know if she went against us, she would win." takeomi said.
"wait, why?"
"has she ever lost?" takeomi asked, but it was rhetorical.
that was true, in a sense. you had lost a lot of people, but when it came to committing crimes you had an immaculate record.
