In the bustling crowd, Miss Bae found herself wandering and unexpectedly crossed paths with my mom.

There was a brief moment of hesitation, and her eyes betrayed a mixture of regret and guilt. Her gaze carried an air of intense remorse, as though she believed she had committed some grave transgression.

"Joohyun?" my mom called out, her voice carrying a gentle formality.

Miss Bae, taken aback, let out a startled gasp as their eyes met.

"Joohyun! It's truly you!" My mom's smile was warm and genuine, her excitement evident.

"Miss Chun? You know Miss Bae?" Sana asked.

"We attended the same school!" My mom's smile radiated genuine joy, but Miss Bae's expression wavered. She seemed taken aback, unsure of how to respond, clearly not anticipating this encounter.

"Yeah," Miss Bae replied, her tone subdued.

"We used to be such close friends! Oh, and I almost forgot! Thank you for always looking out for Y/N, Joohyun! You're a great teacher!" Mom enthusiastically clasped Miss Bae's delicate hands, her infectious smile spreading.

Miss Bae clenched her teeth, her remorse evident. "I'm deeply sorry... for my mistakes..."

Evidently, there was an underlying matter that the two needed to address. However, my mom's compassionate nature prevented her from seeing Miss Bae as someone capable of doing horrible things.

"Joohyun, how about we go grab a bite to eat outside?" Mom proposed, extending an olive branch of sorts.

Mina and I strolled outside the school grounds. With most students engrossed in the concert, the campus appeared deserted, the gymnasium holding everyone's attention.

"Leaving so soon? What about the committee tasks?" I inquired.

"Care to join me at my place and forget about committee duties?" Mina suggested with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"So, this is your strategy, huh?" I chuckled, seeing through her playful tactics.

Just as we exited the school gate, we were met by Mina's father, who was waiting in his car. Standing beside him, however, was an individual with a criminal demeanor.

"Ah, Mina! You've arrived," Mina's dad greeted warmly. Beside him, my dad turned to me with a distasteful smirk.

I clenched my teeth, my fist tightening in frustration. Observing my reaction, Mina cleared her throat and inquired, "What's the reason for calling us here?"

"We thought we'd check up on how our children are faring in school. It's quite the coincidence that the two of you were together, isn't it?" Mina's dad remarked.

"You two must be a couple," my dad interjected, his tone dripping with insinuation. I maintained my silence.

"I wish," Mina responded with confidence, her words catching me off guard.
