"It's not your fault."
He held his face gently, those warm brown eyes once filled with life, now dull and wispy. Before this boy was not the lover he once knew, but an echo of what once was. The hand on his cheek no longer sparked him with energy but sent chills down his spine as the ghostly essence phased through him. "How could it not be?" He whispered, his throat bobbing. He couldn't bear to look at the young man's body. He resisted no matter how much he wanted his gaze to travel down.
"I do not blame you, my love. Nobody does."
But the boy could not believe his words. He knew the blame was to fall on him. "I held your body in my arms." He whispered, salty tears rolling down his cheeks in a sad rain. "I whispered to you the sweet lullaby of parting as the forever sleep took you into his blankets." How badly he wanted to embrace his lover. To be held by those gentle arms once more. But even if he tried, they would only pass through him.
"My love, it was only fate. We knew from the beginning that it would end this way."
"But I cannot bear the loss of you!" Cried he. The ghostly boy before him only smiled softly and shook his head. "You have never lost me, my love. You breathed life into a shell that could no longer move. You showed me the wonders of the world and in return, I gave you my heart.""But now it is gone.."
