Chapter 11: Never Grow Up

Maya's POV:

Carina and Maya had been together for a few years, they're were now married, And they decided to go to the bar they met at for a date.

Me and Carina were at Joe's bar for a date night. "I got you a white wine, babe." I smile. "Oh thank you bambina but I can't drink it." She looks at me. "Why not?" I look at her confused. Carina pulls out a positive
pregnancy test. "Oh my god-" My mouth drops open. "Suprise." She smiles. "How long have you known?" I asked. "Uhmm for about a few weeks." Carina looked at the pregnancy test then back at me. "So we are having a baby?" I placed my hand on hers. "Si we are bambina!" My wife kissed me.

*months later*

Carina's POV:

"Maya.. we've got to do things today, so please get out of bed bambina." I started to get frustrated. "No I'm fine you can go without me." She turned over on her side to face away from me. "Maya Bishop-Deluca, we've got an ultrasound appointment to get to." I sighed. "I've seen our baby already it's fine if I miss one appointment." She groaned. "You promised you wouldn't miss a single one, this one is a big deal it's my 20 week scan!" I was very frustrated with her now.

"Okay okay!" She sat up in bed. My wife looked up at me and pulled me to her, she then kissed me. "Mmm.. bambina you know we can't do this now.." Even though I wanted her so badly. "Why not?" She whined. "Because we have to leave in twenty minutes.." I pulled away slowly. "Well you did a study on the female orgasm.. twenty minutes should be plenty." She mumbled. "I did but our eight year old daughter is in her room.. so that's the other reason this isn't the right time." I looked at her as she pouted. I gave her a quick kiss. "Now get ready amore mio." I started to walk away but then I felt Maya grab my wrist. "Before you go I also need to say goodmorning to our little man." She grins and places a few kisses on my stomach. I giggle. "Okay now please get ready."

I walked into Rowan's room. "Bambina are you ready?" I noticed her curled up in her bed. "tesoro" I sat down on her bed and gently placed my hand on her back. "Mama.." She sniffled. "amore, what's wrong?" I replied. "I'm scared.." She looked at me and cried. "Why is that?" I kept rubbing her back. "I don't want to be left behind when my brother comes." She sat up. I pulled her to my chest. "Darling.. you most definitely will not be." I reassured her. "Are you sure Mama?" Rowan looked up at me. "I'm very sure." I smiled and kissed her forehead.

*At the hospital*

We all walked into the room where the ultrasound would be done. "So what's so important about the 20 week scan Mama?" Rowan asked. "It checks on the physical development of the baby and can detect certain congenital disorders as well as major anatomical abnormalities." I explained. "Ohh okay." The little blonde nodded. "That does sound like a big deal.." I heard Maya say to herself. "Si it is bambina, that's why I wanted you here, not just because of that but because you committed to this the day we started trying." I kissed her. "Your right, I'm sorry about earlier." She looked down at her feet. "Its alright amore mio." I grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly.

Dr Jo Wilson arrived. "Ciao Dr Wilson!" I smiled. "Hello Carina, how are you feeling today?" She asked. "I'm feeling well, I'm very glad the morning sickness is over." I chuckled. "I'm very happy you are feeling good, I'm going to start the fetal scan now." She smiled. "Alright." I nodded. Dr Wilson placed the gel onto my stomach and moved the doppler around. "Your baby boy looks very healthy, there are no signs of congenital disorders or any major anatomical abnormalities." She looked at the three of us. I felt a wave of relief go over me. Dr Wilson cleaned my stomach up and left the room. I looked at the ultrasound pictures. "He's our little bambino." I smile. "Yes he is." Maya kisses my head.

*At home*

Maya went straight to the kitchen and stuck the ultrasound picture on the fridge. She looked at it with a huge smile on her face. I leaned up against the counter. "Your extremely excited bambina." I chuckled. "I am!" Maya comes over to me and places her hands on my stomach. "We are only 4 months away from meeting our little boy." She kisses me. Rowan jumped up on the counter top next to me. "I can't wait to meet my little fratello!" Rowan smiled from ear to ear. "Ah I see my bambina as been keeping up with her Italian." I kissed her head. "Si Mama I am!" Rowan replied.
