"Did you order what I asked you to?" Rae turned and asked Nash once the elevator doors closed with Hunter inside.
"I did and they're ready to collect already. I ordered them in my name though, so I'll go pick them up." Rae nodded and threw him her car keys. "Seriously? Your new car?"
"I trust you Nash. I know you're a good driver, plus it all needs to be put into my car anyway."
"Why don't we just wait and see how Hunter goes with the hospital administrator?"
"They're not going to postpone her discharge unless something medical happens between now and then and Milly is perfectly healthy."
"Rae..."
"Nash please! I can't rely on maybe's. I need to know she's safe. Especially now I know that Marie Schultz is doing everything in her power to get Milly adopted. If she gets adopted, she's gone. I'll never see her again. We'll never see her again!" Nash sighed, but nodded. "If you're having second thoughts, it's..."
"No! I said I was in and I'm in. No matter what." He walked over and kissed both Rae and Milly on the cheek and smiled as he walked out.
"Don't scratch my car!" Rae called as he walked down the hall. He turned and pointed to himself with a hurt look.
"I would never!" He poked his tongue out and waved.
"Don't worry baby girl. You're not going with any strangers." Rae smiled down at the sleeping baby in her arms. She snuggled her for a few more moments and then put her down in her cot, grabbed her English essay out of her bag and continued to work on it.

"None of this is going to change anything!" Hunter could hear Marie screech before he'd even opened the door into the hospital administration reception area.
"I beg to differ." Mitch sounded almost bored. "You cannot use the hospital for personal gain Miss Schultz."
"How dare you!"
"Hi there." Hunter walked up to the receptionist, but his eyes were still looking in the direction of Mitch and Marie's voices.
"Hi Hunter." Hunter looked down at the woman sitting at the desk.
"Shit. Sorry. Hey Clara. How have you been?" Hunter asked the pretty blonde who he'd gone to high school with.
"Pretty good actually. I got engaged last week." She held her hand up and Hunter smiled at the sparkling ring on her finger.
"No way! That's awesome! Do I know the lucky man?"
"It's Philip."
"From school? Nice! I didn't realise you guys stayed together."
"We didn't. He went to uni and I went to Europe, but we reconnected about eighteen months ago and sort of just picked up where we left off."
"Sounds like you guys are meant to be."
"Yeah, we are." She smiled sweetly and Hunter could see how happy she was. "What can I do for you?"
"I'm wanting to speak to the administrator about the discharge of a patient please."
"Unless it's a family member, we can't give out any personal information."
"I'm here on official business." Hunter motioned to his uniform.
"I suppose that's not surprising considering your Dad is the Sheriff."
"And I'm now the deputy."
"Very fancy." She said with a laugh. "I'll see if Dom is available for you." She picked up the phone and pressed a couple of numbers.
