'This is so uncomfortable

'This is so uncomfortable.' Seonghwa adjusted his ceremonial uniform yet again. Why do they always make outfits like this so hard to wear? The embroideries scratched his neck, the fabric too suffocating. How do the palace guards march in these at festivals?

'You look hot though,' Pearl spoke from where she stood, letting Mingi fix her hair till it looked all perfect. 'Too hot in fact,' she eyed the spy from the bottom to top, standing up to reach for him and observing him closely.

'Please, have mercy on my eyes.' Mingi groaned, starting to fix his own hair.

'You're saying this now but just you wait till you see Yunho in his uniform,' Pearl chuckled, resting her head on her boyfriend's back as her arms sneaked around his waist. 'You'd go crazy too.'

'Yunho does look good in his uniform, I must admit,' Seonghwa added, tidying his hair for a final time. 'That's the only time he doesn't look like a homeless, unemployed man.'

'Ooh! So we're in for a treat!' Pearl wiggled her eyebrows at Mingi.

'Are you all ready?' Yeosang knocked at the door.

'Yeah, we'll be out in a minute!' Pearl answered, detaching herself from Seonghwa to help her cousin get ready faster. They all exited the room together, Seonghwa with Pearl practically hanging off his arm and Mingi following the two and shutting the door. He descended the stairs, following the two carefully so he doesn't end up tripping over the long dress his sister wore. He didn't notice the pair of eyes following him or the gasp that escaped Yunho's mouth when he saw him all dressed up in his princely attire. Their eyes met, the Alhenian equally as shocked as the spy when he saw him standing there in all his glory- wearing a navy blue uniform studded with accessories that matched Seonghwa's. He averted his gaze, not wanting to stare for too long and seem weird.

'You look pretty,' Yunho spoke, now standing closer to him but still maintaining a respectful distance. He scanned him from top to bottom, taking in the all-black suit that the prince adorned. The difference between the usual, sweet and soft Mingi and Prince Mingi was giving him a whiplash. He looked more intense, strong, and maybe a little bit scary.

'You look good too,' he returned the compliment, suddenly shy but still managing to smile back at the grinning blond. Yunho chuckled to himself at the prince's demeanour. Despite the intense appearance, he was the same old Mingi after all.

'Okay, if you two are done with your staring competition can we go?' Wooyoung interrupted the moment, always playing the gooseberry. Yunho sighed, nodding as he left Mingi's side.

'You three should go first,' He pointed at Pearl, Mingi and Wooyoung. 'We'll join you later with Prince San's convoy.' The three nodded. Pearl rushed to Seonghwa to say her brief goodbyes, and Wooyoung ran to San to tell him he better come soon, leaving Mingi alone with Yunho.

'Stay safe.' Yunho didn't know what to say.

'You too.'

'Yeah.' Silence. The air surrounding them was awkward. Both of them refused to make eye contact as the rest of them took their time to come back. Eventually, it was time to leave. The trio stood in front of the door, waiting for their carriage to pull up to the gate.
