Onyx: Set up where the first portcullis trap is when they try to get through use it to separate them, we DO NOT want them being able to help each other.
Ruby: Where are you going to be then?
Onyx: I'm going to be at the second portcullis trap and Rosha will be past that to deal with anyone on the other side of the portcullis.
Rosha: Are there any other traps in this fort?
Onyx: There are some crossbow traps but not much else.
Rosha simply grunts before making her way to her designated position.
As Zenkoh, Maria, and Irya are making their way through the hallway all they can see are some unused torches in sconces on the walls. Suddenly Maria makes Zenkoh stop.
Maria: Stop! Don't step there.
Zenkoh gives Maria a confused look.
Maria: There's a trap. You almost stepped on the floor tile that would have set it off.
Irya: What? I don't remember there being traps here the last time I was stationed here!
Zenkoh: Clearly Kenzo has made some renovations since you were last here Irya.
The group comes up to a split in the path. One path going to the right while the other path continues to go forward.
Irya: If I remember correctly, forward should be the direction we want to go to reach Kenzo's office.
Zenkoh: Forward it is then, the last thing we need is Kenzo having a chance to get away.
Just as Zenkoh and Maria cross the threshold they hear a thunk as a portcullis drops from the ceiling separating Irya from them.
Irya: What? Oh, come On! Well that's just great.
Zenkoh tries to lift the portcullis, but it doesn't budge.
Maria: That isn't going anywhere. Irya, do you know if going the other way eventually meets up with where we will be up ahead?
Irya: I can't remember for sure but it probably should. I'll have to meet up with you up ahead!
As much as Zenkoh didn't want to leave her by herself she knew there wasn't any choice if they were going to catch Kenzo.
As Irya made her way down the other hallway she saw that there was a lot more dirt and dust than the other hallway, was this even used much anymore? As she made her way to the doorway to the next room she could see that the room had been emptied out. There wasn't anything here other than an empty room!
As she walked inside she heard something fall from the ceiling, as she turned around she saw a red kobold that was shorter than her, that wasn't surprising she was bigger than all the other kobolds in her old den.
Ruby simply stared at her for several moments before breaking the silence.
Ruby: So, it was true. Didn't want to really believe that the Queen of the Kobolds was coming.
Irya was confused for a second before remembering that her old den used to call her that because she was bigger than everyone else.
Irya: Wait! The only ones who have called me that are from my old den!
Ruby: That's right. When you had left the den I was determined to eventually follow after you! I was going to prove that size didn't automatically mean you were better!
Irya: What? I have never once thought that being bigger automatically made one better!
Ruby: That didn't stop the rest of the den from comparing anything anyone did to you!
