Author's Note and Prologue

Hey all this is the author Kogokarasu! This is the first of hopefully many books I write!
I have to preface that I have dyslexia and will many times type faster than I can process and miss spelling and grammar mistakes so if you find any please point them out so I can fix it! I would love to hear from you so leave your feedback in the comments! I have only ever written academically so this is a new journey for me, and I would appreciate any support you can give plus I would love to hear from you!

There is no update schedule as of now, though my goal is to published one chapter a week.

I have been contemplating this story for a few months now and after coming home from a trip from Alaska I decided I have so much inspiration to finally start. I do not have this story planned out yet, but I do have a few ideas on where to start and where it is heading. Ideally I am planning to make this story with as many real scenarios and solutions as possible with of course some magical bs to explain other things away (because I might go insane if I don't lol ) I will be putting Authors notes (A/N) at the end of pages if I need to further explain something, link photos or link source material that you can read more on if you like!

Update:8/18/23: I have about 8 pages of research started for this book and 4 poor MS paint character reference pages. I will post reference art when those characters arrive!

Update: 8/19/23: I was sitting in traffic and came to the conclusion that I created Trentan and Melody to be way to loving of parents to just up and leave their child like I planned, so I'm rewriting the chapters from scratch. I'll start over with new names and everything, so no one is confused. Pretend Melody and Trentan live happy ever after, with their daughter. Sorry for the incontinence. The Zennen family consisted of a long line of ruthless entrepreneurs. When they first stepped into N city, they established themselves as a small realtor group. With each passing generation, their wealth and business endeavors grew. 

Deep pockets within the family only put targets on their backs. The solution was to get ahead before someone came for their necks. The family established the Hollows. The Hollows consisted of a small elite group of assassins.

By being the top realtor group in the country, the Zennens were able to select a prime plot of land in a small rural town about eight hours from the city by bullet train. The small town became home to White Lily Academy.

White Lily was established as a prestigious boarding school specifically geared towards training and preparing more assassins to be in the service of the Zennen family. 

The small town of River Run was a perfect location, the quiet town had vast amounts of land to expand the school and the only other attraction was Willow Springs; the horse training facility. Placing the academy on the outskirts of town left enough privacy that no wondering eyes would stumble across the true purpose of the school.

White Lily's prestige was known worldwide as a school only the best prodigies could attend. No one truly knew the rigorous curriculum nor the true purpose it held. With the promise of boosting a family's reputation many wealthy parents flocked to the school hoping to bribe their children into attendance. Little did they know that there was no amount of money to pay for a seat at this school.

Few children were ever successful in gaining admission after the application process, the reason being the strict conditions the students had to meet in order to even be considered. Administration required all applicants no matter what age of starting must either be a Zennen themself, recommended by a Hollow, be someone with no family, or be a person whom the Zennen family personally recommends.

Loyd, the current reigning head of the Zennen family, sits at the top of his newest piece of real estate, a thirty-story office building located in the very center of N city. Feet propped on his sleek desk; he spends his afternoon reading over the latest report that was brought to his desk by his male assistant. 

"Ping" "Ping" "Ping" notifications sound from his phone located in his suit pant bottoms. Slinging his feet back on the floor and standing to hand the signed reports back to the assistant. Loyd reaches into his pocket to read the collection of messages left on his phone.

"What is this!" Loyd yells. 

Reading the messages, he finds out a tabloid wrote an article about his fun night at the club with an unknown young woman a week ago. 

The article was titled "Is this Loyd Zennens Type of Women?" The article continues by saying that Loyd and a young woman were seen at Spam nightclub on Tuesday, February third, the sources claim to have seen them talking, enjoying a few drinks, and ultimately leaving the club together. A source claims that they ended the night together in the same hotel room.  

Thousands of comments on the article only driving further anger into Loyd's veins. This occurred a week ago, furious, Loyd begins dialing and puts his phone to his ear but not before throwing his checkbook to his assistant and yells,

"Fix this! I don't care how much it is going to take to pull that article just do it!" 

The male assistant bowed to Loyd and replied with a short, "Yes sir" and promptly left his office. 

Loyd called the Hollows investigation specialist team. Reciting the code phrase Loyd was directed to the head specialist. 

"Do a background check on that woman, from a week back, find out everything you can on her."

The voice on the end of the line confirms the order and asks if he wants a team tracking her. Loyd thinks it over for a moment and decides following her would be the best way to find out her motives. Loyd replies, "I want daily reports on her movement, follow everywhere she goes for the next month." A month was plenty of time to determine if she was a threat or not. With the order placed the phone call ends.
