Iza slept for the rest of the day and woke just in time for dinner. Veronica, a staff member of the house, came knocking a few minutes after Iza had awoken.

"Miss, sorry to disturb you. Dinner will be served shortly."

"mmh, Thanks. I'll be out in a bit."

Iza stretched her arms over her head and crawled out of bed. Iza looked down at what she was wearing; a pair of sage green shorts and a white T-shirt and decided that this would be fine to go to dinner in.

Iza opened her bedroom door and saw Veronica waiting for her. Veronica bowed to Iza as she left her room.

"Good evening my lady. My name is Veronica. Master Loyd informed me that he had neglected to give you a tour of the grounds, so I will be accompanying you to the dining room this evening if that is alright with you miss."

Iza gladly accepted;

"That would be helpful thanks! Will you be around after dinner to show me around?"

As they walked down the steps Iza learned more about her current attendant.

"Yes, my lady, I am one of ten staff members who live on the premises, and our services to you and the master are available at all times.

My job here is to manage the staff who live within the house and provide support to anyone who may need it.

Holly and Rose are maids within the house who you met earlier. Violet and Daisy are also maids and Gordon is a Butler, but you have yet to converse with them. Blaze, Iris, and Violet are the chefs, they oversee food preparation and menu planning along with maintaining the greenroom on the lower floor.

Chamilla moves between duties as needed similar to me, but she also takes on the duties of seamstress. She was away today preparing for your arrival, but she will be back by tomorrow. You will be meeting her tomorrow afternoon to prepare a new wardrobe for you.

There are four others on the property that you will meet later this week. They are barn hands and grounds keepers, all living above the barn in their own apartments."

Iza tried to keep up and remember everyone but reminded herself that she would need to write everything down when she got back to her room tonight.

The two women arrived at the dining room. Veronica ushered into the room and then bowed and left. Iza was amazed at the vast space and enormous table that was stationed in the center of the room. The scent of fresh-cut Pholx flowers brushed her nose as she walked to one of the two set places at the table.

Loyd greeted her when she got close, he got up from his seat at the head of the table and pulled out the chair to the right of him for Iza to sit. There was little time to talk before dinner was brought out.

Apple cider glazed pork chops, topped with cooked cinnamon apples with an array of sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes. The smell alone was mouthwatering, but the smell of the apple desserts brought out after dinner was beyond enticing. There was a freshly baked apple pie, that had a border of walnut and caramel sliced apples.

After dinner, Loyd excused himself from the table and informed Iza that he had to leave for the city and head back to work for a few days and should be back within a week's time.

Veronica gave a tour of the house to Iza before leading her back to her room for the evening.

Iza thanked Veronica for her help and closed the door behind her. Once inside she rushed to find a journal and wrote down as many details as she could remember of the people Veronica had mentioned earlier.

"Now who was Gordon again? Was he the chef? No Blaze is the chef so he must be the butler then."

Scribbling the names down she slowly began to remember everyone's role within the house.

Iza wanted to befriend the staff here, as they were going to be living together from here on out. She pondered ways to get to know them, and how she could help and show her appreciation for their work as well.

After making a list, she grabbed a tablet Loyd had given her that was like the one in the hospital. The array of books was large but nowhere near the selection of the hospital's tablet. Iza wasn't discouraged, with there being a library in the home she was sure to find everything she could ask to read. Iza picked a book and began to read it before bed.

Losing track of time, a yawn came from Iza's mouth. The time in the corner of the tablet read midnight. Rubbing her eyes, Iza clicked the tablet closed and set it on the side table, and went to sleep for the evening.

Iza woke in a foreign place, the walls and floor were made of uneven cold stone. The place was dark with only a soft glow of light coming from up ahead.

Iza clings to the wall feeling her way to the light. As she came closer to the light source, she saw that it was a roaring fire, illuminating the cave she was in.

Where was she, this must be a dream it has to be! She took in the surroundings and warmed herself by the fire. She made eye contact with two pairs of small glowing eyes that could be seen just beyond the fire.

In a panicked state, Iza ran back the way she came. Stumbling over the uneven ground. Iza lost her footing and began to fall. Tripping was the last thing she wanted, she needed to get away from the creature she had just encountered. Bracing herself for the impact, Iza threw her hands out in front of her, but the impact never came.

Iza never hit the ground, instead, she awoke with a start in bed, arms and hands ready above her head. Sweat laced her body and her heart raced.

Iza sat up in bed and felt her body all over before examining her surroundings, she was at the estate. She held her chest and sighed in relief.

Being safe in her room her heart started to calm. She proceeds to the bathroom to rinse the accumulated sweat from her body. She ran hot water down her body and couldn't get that surreal dream from her head.

She shook her head and left the shower, she got ready at a slower rate, she had been given such a fright this morning and was worried about the growing child in her stomach. Could sudden shock like that cause a miscarriage? She was worried and made a beeline to the dining room where she knew one of the staff members would be at this time.

Iza headed to breakfast and ran into Rose on the way. She had asked her if there was any way she could phone a doctor and explained to Rose that she had a nightmare and woke suddenly and wanted to have the baby looked at.

Rose reassured Iza that she would phone the doctor and have them come after breakfast.

The doctor came and performed an exam on Iza and informed her the baby was healthy. The doctor also gave her plenty of pregnancy and child development material to read.

They set an appointment to meet again in two weeks. Iza thanked the doctor a few times and cherished the paper they had given her.
