Entering the lab, Marlene let go of Ian at the door before catching up with her brother and Ellie. Standing there, rubbing his wrist gently from where the female Grant had grabbed him, he watched as the young doctor followed Alan's every movement as they looked around the lab.

"G'day Henry." John said as he came up besides Ian, the two making eye contact, before the older man made his way down the stairs with Ian and Donald following suite.

"Good morning, sir." Henry greeted, finishing writing something down before he put his clipboard away.

The trio were now staring at a nest of eggs, a robotic hand turning each of the gently. Marlene smiled before she noticed some movement of one of the eggs. "Alan, Ellie, look." She whispered, gesturing to the egg that was twitching.

"Oh God..." Alan muttered just as Henry appeared.

"Perfect timing!" The young scientist said. "I hope they'd hatch before I had to go to the boat."

"Henry, Henry, Henry. Why didn't you tell me?" John scolded playfully as he moved to the front of the nest, putting gloves on. "I insist of being here when they're born."

Marlene watched in awe as she watched the egg begin to crack, a little snout slowly popping out of the crack. Hearing a tiny squeak, she put a hand on her chest as she saw the head fully start to peak out, yellow eyes darting across the room.

"Oh, god." Ellie said in shock as John moved some of the eggshell of the baby's head. The baby gave out a tiny roar at him, thinking that it may have sound threateningly when in reality he was just a cute little baby.

"They imprint on the first creature they come in contact with." John mentioned as he helped the baby come out of it's shell. "Helps them to trust me. I've been present for the birth of every creature on this island."

"Surely not every birth." Ian said, looking at John. "Surely not the ones that have bred in the, uh, wild."

"Actually, they can't breed in the wild." Henry said, standing next to Marlene. "Population control is one of our security precautions. There's no unauthorized breeding in Jurassic Park."

"And how do you know they can't breed?" Marlene asked, becoming curious on the subject.

"Well, because all the animals in Jurassic Park are female. We've engineered them that way."

"Oh." Marlene said, looking back at the baby dinosaur. Something felt off about Henry's answer, like there's a key fact about it she was missing...

Moving to stand behind Marlene, Ian started asking more questions. "Well, again, how do you know they're all female? What? Does somebody go out in the park and, uh, pull up their skirts or something?" Side-eyeing him, Marlene nudged him in his arm before looking back at Henry.
