Helping Ian on the desk, Marlene huffed as she studied herself against it, feeling lightheaded due to the events that have happened. "Marlene, you need to sit down." Ian advised, nodding to spot by his feet.
She hummed lightly, carefully sitting herself down as she went to pinch her nose, only to withdraw it at the sharp pain. Noticing Ian's look, she waved her hand. "No, I'm fine. Don't give me that look." She dismissed. "We need to treat your leg before it gets infected though."
"I'll grab the first aid kit." Ellie said, having been standing in the corner. "That way I can treat both of you." Sighing, Marlene gave Ian a look. All he did was just smile at her though, leaning on his elbows.
When Ellie came back with the first aid kit, she had went to Ian first since he was the one with the deadly problem. "This will need stitches, and you'll need to keep the tourniquet on. But with that and cleaning it, it should be fine." Ellie said as Hammond and a worker named Arnold came in. "Hey Arnold, can you check on Marlene?"
"Yeah, sure." He mumbled, striding over to her as he put out his cigarette. "I don't even have to touch you to see that your nose is out of place."
"Damnitt." Marlene cursed, shaking her head slightly. "Well, what are you waiting for then?" Arnold nodded, carefully moving his hands to his nose.
"Ok, 1..." Marlene gulped. "2..." Marlene took a breath. "And..." Marlene felt Ian grab her hand. "3!" Letting out a mix of a scream and groan, she held her nose after Arnold let go of it, blinking back the tears. "You're also gonna need stitches for your head, so..."
"Yeah, thanks." She said, holding her nose still, like that would make the pain go away.
"You- hiss - alright there?" Ian asked inbetween a hiss of pain.
"Better than you it sounds like." She chuckled, squeezing his hand.
It took about an hour to get Ian's would addressed, though they couldn't do much since they didn't have the right equipment. After Ian was done, Ellie moved to stitch the gash in her head up, apologizing every time Marlene would flinch in pain.
After the two were all stitched up, Ellie went to go put up the supplies, leaving the two doctors alone.
"I don't know how I'm gonna, um, sleep tonight." Ian chuckled after a moment. "Can you believe this? I guess this is what the chaos theory is all about, huh?"
"Are you ok?" Marlene asked, raising a brow at him. "I mean, you almost die, and now you're cracking jokes."
"Coping mechanism."
"Fair enough." Dr. Grant shrugged.
"Are you worried about your brother?" Ian asked after a minute, Marlene staring at her feet.
"... yeah." She answer hesitantly. "You know, he's the reason I got into dinosaurs."
"Really?"
"Yeah." She chuckled, running a hand through her hair. "You see, my mother wouldn't let me do anything deemed as 'boyish' growing up, so when my brother would put me to bed or babysit me, he would always read me his big book of dinosaurs. I think I could recite his 'T is for T Rex' book by heart at age 4."
