two days had passed and jisung had remained unconscious, making the other vampires to have him forcefully drink blood of animals even if he's still out cold. minho's worries doubled overtime as they continued to travel since yeonjun had informed beomgyu that the pack is waiting and ready for any attacks. yeonjun had already informed their alpha about them finding their mates initials but minho had told beomgyu to not tell about his red string ... not yet, since it will cause more chaos to the already brewing war.

they had stopped by a fresh pond for a rest and everyone could sense how stiff and tense the atmosphere was because minho has been very agitated lately.

everyone with their respected mates have been using the time to sort their resolves with each other, learning about more of them but in reality, it was just the wolves opening up and making small talks with their partners.

seungmin became more playful with his responses with hyunjin but did no effort to tell anything about himself and often changes the topic before it gets too personal.

taehyun is just very much amused with beomgyu's antics and seeing how childish the other acts around him and the others.

felix and changbin have been disgustingly (as per hyunjin's words) flirty and clingy with each other. hueningkai swore he saw the two making out while they were tasked to hunt for food.

chan on the other hand, alongside with kai, was attentive to the needs of the truly mated pair. he would always look out for them especially at times when the others are out to do tasks or minho seems very deep into his thoughts.

like this moment, minho had asked them to leave him alone by the pond while the others circled around the campfire that hyunjin and felix had set up. they already had their dinner and everyone's just chilling or talking quietly with each  other, not wanting to destroy the forest's peace.

the blue moon was gone and the bask of the same silvery glow of the moon was back again, shining over above them. for some it gave them a blanket of safety but for some, it's a blanket of the sense of vulnerability.

chan ushered to seungmin and taehyun to look over jisung and taehyun immediately slipped onto chan's place to rest jisungs's head on his lap. the older vampire then stood up, dusting off his pants before giving a worried glance over jisung and seungmin.

the cut on his wrist were bandaged by changbin and the cloth that wraps around it was still soaked with blood. vampires don't have blood, you ask? well, the myth is wrong.

the orange haired vampire then walked over towards the pond where minho was blankly staring at the stilled water. he growled lowly when chan neared behind him but did no move to push the other away. the elder took it as a sign to sit beside the soon to be alpha, leaving a comforting distance between them.

"what's going on, alpha? talk to me." chan started, the hushed winds blew over their faces as they stared upfront, the silence was still as tensed as the days before, something was definitely wrong.

"he knew it." minho almost quietly breathed out but chan managed to catch the words before it slipped past through the wind.

"who?" confused, chan frowned at minho, slowly tilting his head to look at the alpha.

"jisung. he knew about it. i heard him, he knew all along and i ..." minho pauses, breathing heavily before standing up, pulling out at his hair in irritation.

"he knew what minho?" chan also stood up, raising a hand to touch minho's shoulder but the other had flinched away before he could come close.

"the red string ... he ... he said the mate pull will be stronger because of the red string in him. he- how did he know? and how did i miss it?" minho's voice faltered as he clutched on his chest.
