As a photographer in Seoul, you formed friendships with SM artists Taeyeon, Tiffany, and YoonA from Girls' Generation. Tiffany was the first artist you met, and after meeting her group for a photoshoot, she discovered you were their designated photographer. They invited you for lunch, marking the beginning of your friendship, and within a few months, Tiffany offered you a place to stay with Taeyeon, which you reluctantly accepted.

After meeting Girls' Generation and a few artists, she introduced you to Red Velvet, a group you later collaborated with on their comeback. A fast friendship grew, leading to romantic feelings for two years for the group's main vocalist, Wendy.

Yeri and Joy, the youngest members, were the first ones to notice how you became reserved and timid whenever Wendy was around. Initially, you denied it, but eventually, you relented and confessed your affection for her after they pointed out the signs. At the same time, they sensed a change in Wendy's behavior when it came to you.

Whenever you met with the group, Wendy would be the first to show up with a bright smile on her face. She also never hesitated to leave her responsibilities behind, be it her dormitory or her work, if you fell sick, and she would make the effort to be by your side and provide the care you needed. And while her friends occasionally playfully teased you about it, you couldn't help but join in the laughter wholeheartedly.

Wendy appeared as if she gladly went along with everything, leading you to believe her sentiments mirrored yours. However, you suspected her reaction might falter without a confession, so you avoided revealing your feelings to protect your friendship.

But after a couple of weeks, she confessed to you something that unexpectedly shattered your heart.

"I officially have a boyfriend!" she gushed over the phone, making you stop working on your photo editing.

"Boyfriend?" you asked in disbelief.

"Yeah, I actually thought these feelings would pass, but when we had lunch yesterday, he admitted that he's been crushing on me for some time now," she explained. "So when he asked me to be his girlfriend, I said yes."

You turned slowly to meet the camera lens as she uttered her words.

"'Would' pass?" you thought. "So, she's been having feelings for him for a while now?"

Unaware that you had been staring at your phone for a while and holding back your tears, the sudden sound of Wendy's voice calling out your name multiple times jolted you back to reality.

"Are you okay?" she worriedly asked.

"Uh, yeah. I'm just pondering the reason why it took you so long to tell me that you fell in love with someone," you said as you continued working.

You couldn't help but let out a sulky tone. Even though you tried to keep your emotions hidden, you regretted not keeping them under wraps longer.

Wendy, on the other hand, seemed confused, as she couldn't understand your response. You recalled the time when she admitted to liking someone, but she withheld their name because she was certain they didn't feel the same way about her. But after learning she liked you from her bandmates a month ago, you planned a surprise for her. Unfortunately, that has just fallen through.

"Wait, why are you upset with me for not telling you? Aren't you happy for me?" she asked.

"I am happy," you lied, shifting your eyes towards her. "But we're friends, Wendy. You're one of the people I've trusted since I arrived here in Seoul."

"But you don't seem to be happy," she said with doubt.

Just then, you unexpectedly banged the mouse against the desk, making her flinch.
