The Boy in Forks

When Carlisle got the call from Alice that Liam was on his way to hospital, Carlisle couldn't help but freak out. His mate wasn't a vampire like the rest of them so he could easily be hurt. When Liam finally arrived, Carlisle had quickly offered to take a look at him. The other doctor who was originally supposed to check up on him insisted that Carlisle didn't have to do that as he was already so busy with other patients.

"Dr. Cullen, I assure you that you don't have to check over this student. You already have two other patients that you need to check up on," Dr. Kim insisted. 

Carlisle bit back the words 'but that's my boyfriend,' and instead said, "I know, Dr. Kim, but this is my son's boyfriend. Please just let me and I won't bother you anymore,"  

Dr. Kim sighed before agreeing. "Fine, but only because he's your son's boyfriend. Just put one of your other patients under my care, okay?"

Carlisle was quick to hand Dr. Kim one of his other patients' files as the paramedics brought Liam in. Carlisle glanced at Liam's face and saw the tears in his eyes. He followed the other doctors to Liam's room before they left at Dr. Cullen's arrival. Carlisle quickly walked over to Liam's side with a soft look on his face.  

"Shh, don't worry. You'll be okay," Carlisle said and wiped away the tears that were threatening to spill. "Does anything hurt?"

Liam shook his head. Nothing was hurting, he was just scared and couldn't imagine the fright his boyfriends went through. 

Carlisle quickly had X-rays done on Liam just to make sure nothing was broken. The results came back perfectly fine, much to Carlisle's relief. 

The door busted open and Emmett and Edward came rushing in. 

"Baby bear!" Emmett shouted and rushed to grab Liam in a tight hug. Edward did the same before turning to Carlisle. 

"Is anything broken?" He asked. 

Carlisle shook his head with a thankful look on his face. 

"No, thankfully not,"

Both Edward and Emmett let out sighs of relief at the news. Emmett had finally let go of Liam and sat down on one of the chairs next to his bed. He had a tight grip on Liam's hand though. 

"Liam, I had to call your parents for the release forms to let you out but they didn't pick up," Carlisle said. "So, I signed the papers myself as your doctor,"

Liam nodded his head with a small smile on his face. He couldn't expect much from his parents. If they never had time for him, why would they have time to answer some random phone call?

When the papers finally went through, Liam was allowed to be released from the hospital. Emmett and Edward had walked him to the car where Jasper was waiting after saying goodbye to Carlisle. 

"Liam!" 

Liam, Edward, and Emmett all turned around to wear the voice was coming from. Tyler was quickly jogging over to the three of them before slowing down and grabbing Liam's arm. 

"Hey," He huffed. "I just want to say I am so, so sorry for almost smashing you. I just lost control and the ice-"

"O-oh, it's fine. I should have moved out of the way so I'm sorry about what happened to your van," Liam responded. 

Emmett had reached over and grabbed Tyler's arm making him release his grip on Liam's. 

"You're lucky nothing bad happened to him or you would be the one in the hospital," He growled and loosened his grip on Tyler's arm before walking away with Liam and Edward. Tyler stared at him in shock before slowly turning around and walking back into the hospital. 

When they reached the car, Jasper pulled Liam into his arms. Liam wrapped his arms around Jasper and tucked his face into his neck. 

"Thank you guys for saving me," Liam whispered, although he knew Edward and Emmett could hear it too. Jasper hummed and wrapped his arms around Liam tighter. 

The boys got into the car with Liam sitting in the back with Jasper while Edward drove and Emmett sat shotgun.

Liam didn't go to school the next day, afraid of all the attention that would be directed at him. Carlisle had shockingly been able to take the day off and stayed home with Liam while the rest of the 'kids' went to school.

Esme had been worried to death when she got the call from Alice that Liam was heading to the hospital. She had no idea what to expect. Luckily, there had been no injuries to Liam and she could stop worrying. She went out today to the spa to have some time to relax before the others came back from school. This also gave Carlisle and Liam the house. 

Carlisle and Liam were cuddling on the couch, watching Monsters Inc., per Liam's request. Liam was laying on Carlisle's chest, wrapped in a blanket and wearing one of Carlisle's hoodies. Carlisle watched the movie with furrowed eyebrows, trying to figure out what was happening. 

As the credits started rolling, Carlisle was going to ask Liam what movie he wanted to watch next, only to find him asleep. Carlisle smiled and wrapped his arms around Liam before closing his eyes as well. Even though he couldn't sleep, Carlisle could always try to remember what it was like to disappear from the world for a little bit.
