The transformation took four days to finish. The Cullens/Hale stood by Liam's bedside the entire time, each taking turns to watch over him.
After the incident, Bella was brought to the hospital and her parents were called. Liam, of course, couldn't go to the hospital so he was quickly rushed home.
It was hard for his mates to listen to his pain filled screams and with Jasper's empath ability, he was also feeling the pain Liam was going through, along with the emotions of everyone in the family.
Carlisle sat at Liam's bed the most, worried about his injuries and if he was truly going to heal. He almost felt bad for Liam, considering he probably wouldn't be able to see his family again. At least until he got his hunger under control. But then he thought about Liam's family life before he was turned. He didn't have a great life and, if anything, Liam would probably be more upset about missing school.
Liam would no longer be allowed to hang out with Jacob on the pack's land anymore without being hunted down.
Finally, he could hear Liam's heart stop and along with his breathing. Carlisle shot up from his seat and grabbed onto Liam's hand. The others must have heard the commotion as they all rushed into the room.
When the burning finally stopped, Liam could hear everything around him. There were birds, crickets, footsteps, even the wind from outside was loud. His ears were ringing and he had this burning feeling in his throat.
He opened his eyes soon after and looked around the room. His mates were all standing by his bedside. Everything looked so much more clearer. He could see the tiny details in everything and hear the small things he has never been able to hear before.
Arms wrapped around his waist, breaking him from his thoughts. Liam glanced down at Carlisle, who had been the one to wrap his arms around Liam first.
Despite spending four days in transformation, Liam looked almost the exact same as he did before. Becoming a vampire, of course, made his eyes red but he wasn't as pale as the others were. His face looked the same, given he had some features that were highlighted more now but Liam was still the Liam he was before he turned.
"Liam, baby? How do you feel?" Edward asked. Carlisle had let go of Liam's waist and allowed the others to show their affection. Liam glanced up at Edward with his red eyes.
"I-I'm fine. I think," Liam said. His voice was hoarse from not being in use for four days and the burn in his throat made it worse.
"We should probably take you hunting," Carlisle suggested.
"Hunting? Why?" Liam asked. He sat up from the bed in a flash. Liam's eyes widened in shock as he glanced towards his mates.
"Um, baby bear," Emmett started. "You were bit by James and the venom already spread throughout your body before we could get it out."
"What?" Liam whispered. Jasper could feel the shock Liam was going through and wrapped his arms around Liam's body.
"We're so sorry, Darlin," Jasper said.
Liam's eyes watered with venom that would never fall as he looked into his lap. His life was practically over. He wouldn't be allowed at school for a while. He couldn't visit Jacob because of some stupid treaty the Cullen's and the tribe had. And, the worst part was that he would never be allowed to eat human food again.
His mates looked at him with sadness in their eyes. They never wanted to give Liam this life. At least not right now.
Emmett grabbed Liam's hand and pulled him off the bed.
