The Case of The Unresolvable | ENHYPEN

Day 2

Jennifer had been looking forward to her new job at the investigating firm, and the few days of school starting off had gone by in a daze. But now it was time for her to start working, and she was determined to make a good impression.

After school, she went straight home to have lunch, as she couldn't contain her joy and excitement, even though she knew that letting her emotions go that day could bring trouble. She needed to be serious and professional.

After making sure that everything was in her bag, she exited the house.
On her way to the job, her hands trambled as she kept rehearsing what she needed to say 'Hi, I'm Jennifer-' and too focused on her destination, she failed to notice the person walking towards her.

Suddenly, her shoulder bumped into someone's, and Jennifer quickly looked up to see a tall, dark-haired handsome guy wearing a black coat. Next to him there were some people that could be easily exchanged as his friends or relatives as they were all good-looking. None of whom seemed to have notice the collision. Their eyes met for a brief intense moment, before Jennifer quickly bowed apologetically and hurried away, without waiting for a response.

'Jungwon' the ice Prince, one of the eldest called him, noticing that he was looking back and slowing down. Hearing his brother's voice, he woke up from his trance state 'Huh?' his dark eyes focused on the male 'Is something wrong? Why are you slowing down?'

The boy thought for some seconds before shooking his head -'Nothing, I thought I saw a rabbit'- The brother shrugged, knowing that he liked rabbits blood, but he didn't knew that that was the exact moment, when unbeknown to Jungwon, wasn't an ordinary random encounter.

After walking for a while, Jennifer found her self in front of a majestic buildings, with the name on top '조사하다(investigate) Busan'. The name was simple, yet catchy 'How unique' the girl mumbled before checking the time on her watch. She was early, but decided to enter anyways.

The first person she met was the receptionist 'Good morning ma'am how can I help you?' She asked looking at the female individual with a smile 'Good morning, I'm the new intern' she nodded and gesture to Jennifer to follow her

'This is Mr. Kim office. You can wait here.' The girl nodded, then the beautiful assistant left the office, leaving her there alone. At first she stayed in my place, trying to think about the job, she was confident, but starting to feel a little anxious, to distract herself a bit she started looking around the room. That's when Mr. Kim finally made his entrance. She immediately stood up

'Kim Hanbin, nice to see you again Jennifer' he was dressed in a suit, had a fair complexion that with his natural dark hair, made his face look more handsome. 'It's nice for me too Mr. Kim' she bowed gracefully.

They then sat down for discussion, it was time to get to the important stuff.
He was the one who invited Jennifer to his company, as one day while on a business lunch, the expensive watch of a costumer was stolen. As the person was rich and influential, he got really angry and started shouting to the staff. She was passing by, and was attracted by the commotion.

After seeing the desperate look of the employee who was being accused for theft, Jennifer decided to help. Not too long after, she was able to solve the case, as the wallet was indeed never stolen, just the rich man wanting to scam the restaurant into paying if they didn't want a lawsuit. Mr. Kim was there and immediately started clapping for her, before getting up and offering his card and a job as an intern.

'For now, I'm handing you to Jeong Jaehyun, he will tell you what you have to do'

He said, as her eyes scanned the male once they were left alone

'And here is the lounge, we're we in break times we gather to take some tea, or coffee and have a chat' she nodded, trying to remember every things he said. The duo then moved to the office of Mrs. Park Jihyo

'Your first task Is to deliver this documents to the public relationship department'
He said, handing the girl a pile of papers seeming not heavy, but contrary to what they looked like they were.

Jennifer was a bit disappointed, expecting to jump right into a case. But decided to keep her mouth shut as she wasn't in any position to protest and went to do what she was asked to. That day went smoothly and the other day as well.
On her delivery duty, she meet Soojin, that worked for the searching department, but wasn't in the office her first day and didn't know Jennifer was going to be working there as well.

'So you guys work in the same place? It was unexpected' Jihan said before taking a bite from her lunch

'Indeed, I wasn't expecting it too'
Starring at the students president Jennifer smiled 'But is best to have someone you know right?' She readed her mind 'How do you know I was going to said that?' They burst out laughing as Jihan made the statement in the same time she did.

She was really comfortable when she was with them but still, it wasn't so easy to get used to having friends.

Weeks passed as Jennifer delivered documents, but for some reason, she could never shake the feeling that something was wrong. Then one day, as she was delivering documents, she "accidentally" overheard two people discussing a case they had been unable to solve as all the firm had heard about it.
'What if I-' Curiosity got the best of her and she decided to take a look.

When everyone exited the office, she took the chance to silently enter the room, reaching the table where she started looking into the files.

As she was doing so, a cold shiver passed though her spine, feeling watched. It wasn't the first time for her, recently it sometimes happened on her way to work, or on her way home.

Just then, she heard a voice from her back, that startled and scared her to the core. 'I don't think you should be looking through those documents' she looked up to meet some's dark eyes. His skin was paler than Mr. Kim's and his voice was deep and at the same time almost squeaky. His hair was dark and he was wearing a shirt, with some black trousers, that made his handsome face stood out more.

He was standing right in the door way and looked quite intimidating, as he stared at her with curiosity. 'I wasn't-' she dropped the file and quickly "arranged" them '- looking though, I was checking if everything was there.'
She said finally in front of him. Sounding confident, she looked at him in the eyes as she spoke. 'Sure you were' he raised an eyebrow as he grinned a little.

It was the first time she saw him in the investigation firm. Was he new? But why did it felt like they've meet before?. Her thoughts as she noticed the employee necklace he had, which was a pass to the company as there were people who tried to sneak onto the company before, so without them you couldn't access the place.

Jennifer's eyes then went down to his name tag, as he was taller than her 'Yang Jungwon'. Seeing that he wasn't going to say anything, than stare at her, she exited the room, under his following gaze.
