The weekend had passed in a daze and now it was monday morning. Jennifer woke up and got ready for school, her mind still buzzing from the days that had passed. It was the first day of the week and in the third hour of the day, they had the student's assembly to discuss the renewal of the school and the election of the new class presidents and later on the students president.
'Jen!! Wait!!' She turned around slightly, to met two of her friends, Soojin, and Jihan, the one that called her.
'Hey, good morning. What's the matter?' The girl asked raising her eyebrow, as they looked like they were in a hurry.
'Didn't you read my texts? As the previous students president, I can chose two students from other classes or mine, to help me distribute the election stuff and I asked you girls in the group' She stared at them still confused, that's when the realisation hit her.
She remembered seeing their messages, but couldn't answer as she was resting sunday and thought it was some of their girls talk.
'Oh! You mean-'
Before she could ask any questions, they dragged her to the main classroom.Soojin had been chosen to oversee the elections and was now enlisting the help of Jennifer and the always positive girl. She wanted the two of them to help her distribute the materials needed for voting to each of the classes.
Without wasting anymore time, the started their missions for the day.
'Class 1-1 with 21 students'
Was the first which they started with. And after handing the necessary things, they quickly moved on to the next classes.
The three of them visited grade after grade, until they eventually arrived at the third-year section.
'Class 3-1 with 23 students'
As the stepped inside, everyone paid attention, while Soojin explained for the 100th time, how it worked.
Jennifer needed to count the papers, to make sure they were the right number and with the help of another person, pass among the seats to give each student, meanwhile Jihan needed to make sure everyone signed the paper for the voting. As she was focused on getting the number right, she suddenly averted a cold shiver passing through her spinsters, followed by chills and the feeling of being watched once again.
She immediately looked up, meeting Sunghoon's eyes. She was surprised for a moment, not knowing that he was in this class. They didn't speak much and could be barely considered as acquaintances, moreover not even friends.
Quickly looking away, she turned her head to the other direction, where she met she Jake's and Jay's eyes. They were all staring straight at her.She tried to ignore the feeling, other than confusion, as she and Jihan handed out the ballot papers and explained the voting process.
After they finished distributing the materials, Jennifer, Jihan and Soojin made their way out. While walking to the next class, 3-2, one of them heard a familiar voice calling her
'Jennifer! Wait up!'
She turned around, while Jihan and Soojin exchanged looks'Girls, start going, I will be right there'
They nodded, before the student's president mounted 'You better explain me later', and they walked away, leaning the two alone, although they never stopped sneaking glances at the pair until they turned the corridor.'Jake?' She called his name a little perplexed as she wasn't expecting him to talk to her again.
'We were wondering if you would like to sit at lunch with us' he lifted the corner of his lips in a shy grin.Jennifer was about to respond, but he cut her off before she could answer. 'We wanted to get to know you better, that's why'. Hearing what he said, she raised her eyebrows 'Sunghoon too?' she tilted her head trying to hide her amused smile. 'Because from what I remember he doesn't like me much'
She crossed her arms to her chest.'He-' his voice paused for a second 'Yeah, he too.' Thinking about that grumpy boy saying that he wanted to expand their knowledge about each other, was a funny thought, that left a smile on her face, the result of trying to contain her self from laughing in the face of the poor boy that was waiting for her reply 'Okay, sure.'
Jake smiled cheerfully. 'See you later then,' he whinking at her, before disappearing in the other direction.
She shook her head still amused by the conversation, now knowing the reason they were trying to stare into her soul.
'Just to ask me out for lunch?' her thought as she made her way hurriedly to the class where her friends where waiting for her.
After handing out all the "politic stuff", they were back to their classes, right before Soojin could interrogate Jennifer, but she didn't know that lunch break wasn't the time either.
'Where are you going?' They asked in contemporary, as after taking their food from the counter, Jennifer went in another direction, different from their usual table spot. 'I'm having lunch with some friends today, I will explain later' and with that, she left the two girls with their mouths wide open, as she turned around, to the crowded table, that today wasn't, where the three boys were already seatted and starring at her.
'So...you guys wanted to know me better?' The first thing she said to them, looking straight at Sunghoon. The boy glared at Jake, who raised his hands in sign of peace.
'Jennifer, do you live in the city?' The attention of the two boys went straight to the older among them...Jay'Yes, I do. In an apartment not too far from school. What about you guys?'
They seem quite hesitant about replying, but once again, Jay took the lead. 'We leave more in a nature side, and as you may have noticed, they have two options, or the bus, or I take them in my car.'They didn't look like people who live in the country side, as now that we were more unclosed, she noticed how fair was their complex and how again each of them was indeed really handsome.
'We are brothers, so we live all seven together' Jake added, as she raised her eyebrow 'All seven?' She nodded a bit surprised. Stating that there were other four of them she didn't meet yet. 'Do you live with your parent?' Sunghoon the tallest among them asked, as he didn't thought much of it.
Jennifer's face fell and she looked away from the group. Jay noticed, and hit Sunghoon with his elbow, urging him to change the topic 'What?' He whispered, while rubbing the part that got hitted 'No,' she replied quietly. 'I don't have parents. They dissapeared long tine ago.'
The boys were all taken aback by her tone and were unsure how to respond.
They exchanged a knowing glance, as they all knew what was like to grow up whitout parent, but in their case, they had each other to rely on.
After all this time together, the had become like family to one another.
'Oh, we are really sorry' Jay tried to reasure her.'Don't worry. It's been years already and deep down I hope they are still alive' she smiled slightly.
'So, do you have any hobbies?'
Jake jumped in to lighten the mood, suggesting another topic, to change the heavy atmosphere, and it worked. 'Hmm, I like books, but recently I didn't have much time to read. Oh and I've always wanted to learn to play an instrument but never had the opportunity. What do you guys do in your free time?' she forced a smile, to restore the mood.'We are all into fashion, but the best fashion sense it's definitely Jay that have it' Jake said, and the one mentioned nodding in agreement. That brought Jennifer to giggle a little, as for some reason she found it funny.
Sunghoon for the rest of their time together, didn't say anything, and just stared at them talking. He was starting to feel bad for his question.
