POV Satomi
The other Princesses and I start swimming away from my kingdom. Our moms told us that the Antarctic Ocean, Mizuko's kingdom, would be cold though. Sakura and Ruri aren't looking forward to that part. They hate the cold.
Just as we start to swim away from the castle, I hear someone call me from behind. "Satomi-sama!" They call.
My face turns red. "K-Kin?" I look behind and face the boy and he smiles.
"Heyyy who's that, Satomi?" Kazumi smirks, swimming up to me.
I try to pretend I'm not blushing and look at Kazumi. "Oh right, Kaz this is-"
"Satomi, why didn't you tell us you met someone!" Ruri says, cutting me off.
I glare at her. "Ruri how many times must I tell you it's rude to interrupt someone when they're talking!"
Kin stands there's awkwardly, looking down. I shake my head and smile. Kaz, Ruri, this is my friend Kin. Kin, this is Kazumi, the Arctic Ocean Princess, and Ruri, the South Atlantic Ocean Princess." I say, motioning to everyone.
"Oh!" He says. Making sure he's far enough away from them, he bows. "Nice to meet you!"
Kazumi laughs. "Cutely awkward. I like it." She teases, trying to get on my nerves.
I stare at her in anger. "Kaz, control yourself!" Kin has a bright blush on his face and I sigh. "Listen Ruri, Kaz, would you two please give us a moment alone."
Ruri glares. "Fine meanie." She says and her and Kazumi both swim away.
"Sorry about them." I laugh nervously. Kin smiles and shakes his head.
"It's fine, Satomi-sama." He says. "Are you leaving already?"
I nod sadly. "Yes, I am. I'm sorry I can't stay longer."
The smile on Kin's face becomes sadder. "I understand. You're a Mermaid Princess, of course you're busy." He says. "But everyone here was so excited that you were here. The people have been living without a Princess here for a long time. You should have seen the smiles on their faces when we heard you and the last Princess were going to be here. They were happier than I had ever seen them."
There's a short pause before he continues. "I guess what I'm trying to say is... you should come back sometime if you can, Satomi-sama."
I notice that I've been staring at him this whole time. A feeling I've never had crashes over me, like a mixture of extreme happiness and sadness. If we weren't under water, I'm sure I would be crying. I manage a smile and nod. "Of course I'll come back." I say. "Thank you, Kin. And if you ever want to visit in the human world, just let me know. But I'm afraid I have to leave now."
Kin nods. "Then I'll see you again someday, Satomi-sama."
I nod and turn away. "Goodbye, Kin." Even though it's rude, I swim away quickly toward the other mermaids.
When I catch up to them, Kazumi looks over at me. "So what was that about?" She asks.
I look back at her, with a forced smile. "Just saying goodbye to a friend."

POV Mizuko
I swim next to Satomi as we talk to each other. The two of us already finished the homework for the two weeks we'll be on this trip.
"Hajime!" I hear my mom, Karen, yell. We all turn to look at her and see her swimming full speed. After a moment I realize she's swimming toward someone. A man with a dark purple tail and long black hair in a ponytail. I stare at him for a minute as mom hugs him tightly and smiles.
Why does he... look so familiar? I think to myself. Do I know him?
The man smiles widely and hugs mom back. "Hello, Karen." He says. "It's been a long time." His eyes land on me and widen. "Mizuko..."
Something inside of me clicks and I remember that my mom had told me about my father. She said he was really alive, and lived in our kingdom. The way this man looks so familiar... There's only one person he can be...
"D-... Dad?" I whisper.
He smiles and nods before swimming over and hugging me. "Yeah... It's me."
I know I should be happy. And that I should hug him back. But I couldn't, so my body just froze. I didn't know what was happening.
He must have been able to sense this because he pulled away and put his hands on my shoulders. "I know you probably don't remember me, Mizuko. It's been so long I don't expect you to. But I want to try to fix it. So what do you say? Do you have any time to spare while you're here for us to catch up?"
I nodded slowly. "I'll find the time."

POV Masumi
"Masumi-sama." Tadashi's voice says from in front of my throne. I look at him and ask what it is he came for. "There are two girls here for you. They said... They want to help."
My eyebrows raise in shock. "Two girls who want to help, hm?" I think for a moment before deciding what to do. "Send them in."
He nods and leaves the room. A few moments later he returns with two girls; one dark skinned with white rabbit ears, pink eyes and curly purple hair, the other with pale skin, green eyes, brown hair, and dressed like some kind of magician.
"These are the girls, Masumi-sama." Tadashi says.
The magician girl gave a childish salute and smiled. "Hiya, Masumi-sama! Magi and Usagi reporting for duty!"
My eyes widened in amusement at the girl's introduction. Tadashi stared at them. "What kind of way is that to act around Masumi-sama!"
I laugh and shoo Tadashi away. "Oh come now, Tadashi. They're perfectly fine." I smile at them, the bunny one still staring at me silently. "Now, why is it that you want to assist us?"
The magician, who I can only assume is Magi, and smiles innocently with her eyes closed. "That's simple. You're so cool, Masumi-sama! We wanna help all we can!"
My gaze softened more and I nod. "Very well. We could use some help with those Princesses. Now I have something to tend to, you two run along."
Magi jumped up and laughed. "Yes we did it! Thank you, Masumi-sama!" She ran away with a smile and the other, Usagi, still stood there staring, expressionless. She have me a small nod before turning around and chasing after her partner.
"What interesting girls... we should keep an eye on them though. Tell Lang Fa to watch them. And call the Sisters. We have a kingdom to visit..."
