The Lone Mermaid

SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG!!!! It's just I had no idea how to write it. But I did!

Omniscient POV

The girls all looked around, astounded by what they'd seen. Each and every one of them had a mermaid's tail. Mixed emotions generated from all of them. Happiness, shock, and even anger.

But anger only came from one...

POV Ruri

I looked around at everyone. My mouth hung open wide. I was a mermaid! I always wanted to be a mermaid, even if I'd never swam before.

"Whoa." I whispered happily. They all looked at me, surprised I could talk. "We're... We're mermaids!" I smiled.

I was so happy. I wanted to try and swim around a bit. And I guess instincts came in. My tail moved on its own as I circled everyone, swimming around and around.

When I came to a stop, Mizuko began to speak. "We should surface." She said. "Our moms must know what is going on."

We all nodded and swam up in sync. As we surfaced, it was almost as if we were connected how we threw our heads back to get the hair out of our faces. I looked to my mom on the beach and we all swam towards the sand.

The looks on our mom's faces were.. different. My mom was slightly proud but looked tired. Lucia was mad. Rina was... she was... impatient. Karen was giving Mizuko a thumbs up. Noel had a small smile upon her face. Coco was a bit angry and a bit calm. Sara... Sara was unreadable.

Our moms walked to the water, not letting their feet touch. They looked at us without speaking for the longest time.

"Well," Hanon said. "As you can guess you're mermaids."

Sara stared at Hanon and sarcastically said, "No really?" Before she got serious. "How do we have our legs back?!"

Our moms all looked at each other before nodding. They took off their matching necklaces... except for Coco.

"Satomi." She said. "You already have your necklace."

They gave us the necklaces and stood back. We stared at them, questioning before we places them around our necks, except Hoshimi.

"Now, there is the option of drying off and going to land, but you need to know everything." Lucia says. "And you're luck this is a private part of the beach."

Coco stepped forward, just centimeters from the water. "Everyone, Satomi is going to demonstrate how to use the Pearls. Now repeat after me. Yellow Pearl Voice."

Satomi nods and closes her eyes. "Yellow Pearl Voice!"

A flash of bright, bright light. That's all I could see. I covered my eyes, hoping they wouldn't go blind. I looked up after it passed to se an entirely different Satomi. Her hair was beautifully layered and yellow. She was now wearing an incredible yellow dress with boots and a microphone in her hands. (A/N: The dresses and the microphones are the first forms that the original characters had in the anime.)

Satomi looked down at herself, awe-struck. "Th-that's what this necklace does." she says.

Sara looked to Kira. "Your turn." she said. "You can do it."

Kira smiles. "Aw yeah, finally! Orange Pearl Voice!"

I watched her as she lifted up and flames started at her tail, slowly engulfing her whole body. I couldn't believe it. She was on fire!

When the flames died down, she, too was different. Her hair was a few shade lighter of orange and it was straighter. Her dress was long and red-orange with a yellow lining. She threw a thumbs up with the microphone hand and winked at us.
